Dude, get out from under the rock! I knew you lived to close to the city.
All you city-folk have issues!

:D

I have never had venison either, and I never lived near a city for the first 18 years of my life.

I'm in no way going to rush out to try it either.

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/6070nikkor/telephoto/85mm.htm

first one on the left on top, better condition than all the pics. its a nikkor-h-c too, which i dont see any examples of, those are all just h.

Neat.

I don't think the lens is AF. 'Auto' on those old Nikkors meant that the lens 'told' the camera what the aperature setting was so you didn't have to input it manually with regard to metering. It was really just a very simple mechanical coupling from the lens to the body, but it did save a lot of trouble.

I wasn't either, and believe me, it is really good.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anthony what time do you think you're going to head up here Sunday evening? I think you said you wanted to use my welder?

Just curious.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hate store bought and resturaunt steaks after primarily eating venison. Whether it be deer, moose, elk, caribou ect. I come from a family that hunts so to me it's just always been something we've had in the freezer.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love the fact that you're allowed to keep the deer if you hit it with your car even if it's not in season.

Well, that's the thing, we're not supposed to here. You can get in some pretty big crap for it because they track everything for population control etc.

Hence why the disposal was a bit of a...'sensitive' issue. :gag:

 Awesome story Chris. I can't say I've ever had venison, never had the opportunity to try it.

SERIOUS?

its soo good holy moly. someone bring some to rocktoberfest.

I'll see what I can do.

I'm in no way going to rush out to try it either.

It's...different. In a good way.

I'd guess around 6 or 7pm? If you have plans don't worry about it. I can do it another time. I just called my grandfather to make sure he's going to be there on Sunday but he didn't pick up.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I need to get to a big game dinner at my buddy's gun club again. Last time i went there was aligator gumbo, bear stew, smoked venison, venison jerky, sweet and sour squirrel, rabbit pot pie, wild boar bread (and elk bread, and other breads), turkey nuggets, a bunch of different fish, and the list goes on... oh and sam adams on tap all night :D I never left a meal so full as I did that night.

And my brother hit a deer near my house once. By the time we parked, called the cops to report it (for insurance purposes), and got back to the deer someone had already stopped and put it down (this is on the main road in my town). We got my buddy's father to bring the dump truck, brought it to his house, lifted the bed vertical to hang it and cut it up. It was delicious.

Nope no plans, I'll just be working on the MJ I'm sure.

I SHOULD be done welding by then as well. Either way I can't imagine what you need to weld taking more than 2-3 stitch welds.

Interesting. Also figured you were talking about Mass since you mentioned Shrewsbury and I live right down the road from there, never realized there was one in NJ too.

Everyone is gonna kill me for this pun, but...

... oh deer, so it was like disposing of a body?

:eyes:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I heard that in MA you aren't supposed to take the kill until it has been reported and the cops have stopped by to confirm, and i heard some cops can be a dick about it and call the EP who may refuse to let you take it anyway. We happen to know most of the cops in my town and one of the good guys made the drive over. My buddy's father with the truck was clearly not completely sober (not hammered by any stretch either though) so he made my friend drive home, all of one mile tops.

We just had to offer him (the cop) some of the meat once we had finished cutting it up, thought he declined :D
