Where would I find a new cross pin and roll pin? and how do i inspect the carrier (assuming it's not damaged) and where would i purchase a new one?

oh, its damaged, trust me. hit up the JY for another 3.73+ carrier, crosspin, and rollpin. alot of ZJ and TJ's got 3.73's so that would probably be your best/cheapest bet.

I have a big glob of caulking on one spot on the rear passenger D pillar, but other than that, I think they are alright. I never checked though.
Funny you mention that, I did in fact go to a beach tonight. I drove past a second beach, but they had chained off the entrances.
As a matter of fact, I was driving and all of a sudden I started feeling some drips on my left elbow. For about 30 seconds halfway through my 2 hour drive, the seal around my door started to leak, really weird.any window leaks?

Its not even half a tooth, just run stub shafts on the street to keep the unit bearings together and throw the full shafts in when he wheels. Bradley did it for a year with flawless results.

Aside from spitting out the pinion and blowing a hole in the case that's all I can think of.

Ken, sent an email so will pm you the info on those u-joints when I hear back. Most likely on Tuesday because of the holiday if that's ok.
Who around here has changed their a/c evaporator? Is it as crappy as the write-ups make it out to be? Maybe I'll harass Adam until he'll do it or give it a try someday when I don't need my XJ for a few days...

I have not changed mine, but I did rip the entire dash off of the red jeep when I parted it out, which you must do to change it. That is going to SUCKKK!.

its not that bad ripping a dash out, i tore out black jeeps one time to fix a flapper door and track down a leak. i even got a handful of extra screws when it was put back it!!!
Jeff- were you the one who asked about getting the evapator outta black jeep then?
Ken- which parts did you say you needed too?
Anybody else need some mint A/C parts?

hopefully tomorrow.
Took it out for a spin today after getting everything done and it had a mean shake around 50-55mph (I would guess I was somewhere around that speed). I'm hoping the shake was just because the tires hadn't warmed up yet, esp since it didn't seem quite as bad later in the drive... that and the drive was all of maybe 10 min long so they probably never even fully warmed up. Going to hop on the highway tomorrow and see how shes driving at 65-70 (highway is a 10-15 mile backroad drive from home, so plenty of time to warm up if needed). If it's more or less smooth I will be wheeling tomorrow if nothing breaks on the drive out there :laugh:. If it's shaking real bad I will have to turn back home unless I can find out why it's so bad.
