THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm 99.9% sure that I am interested in that trans. Hasn't been beaten too hard since the rebuild, right? I just gotta find out when I have the time to make the drive up to get it. To swap from an internal to external slave... all that's needed is clutch, throwout bearing, and lines from the master to slave right? Or am I forgetting something...

And how are the centerforce clutches for the Jeep? I read that some people have issues with their centerforce but it wasn't on a Jeep so idk if it applies at all.

It's Justin so I'm sure it wasn't treated "lightly" but I have no idea.

I got a CF clutch and PP for my NP435. Granted the PP is for an AX15 and the clutch is for an early 80s CJ with a 4-cyl.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I had to lay in the dirt and finish melissa's jeep, my sweat got a nice coating of dust stuck to it, big time suckage.

Hopefully Ill get the PS middle stiffener drilled and tacked in place this week/weekend and start on the DS one too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was outside Sunday all day when it was low 90s.

Though it did suck and I started sweating in 5 minutes. Also went through 3 gatorades.

But I got that frame plating done :D

It was the same yesterday, I was outside for a little then kept having to come in to let the sweat dry. I went through a few waters, gatorade, and a soda. I succeeded in breaking two NSS's.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I don't bother letting the sweat dry, I just let it pour off me and crawl back under the jeep where there is a little shade.

Give me a thunderstorm any day though, I would rather swim in cool water while wrenching.

I went through 3 3-liter jugs of poland springs water while installing a d30 in Manchester about a month ago, took 4 hours and I was saturated afterwards.

I am presently dreaming up ways to build a sun canopy over my jeep with bungee cords, 1/2" EMT, a tarp, and some rope.

EDIT: Ross if you buy that tranny I will buy the old one off you depending on price :eyes: the old one is 4wd right? I forget if red jeep is 2wd or not.

I have thoroughly lost any liking of automatic transmission DDs I once had.

:D

I was thinking the same thing yesterday when people were discussing NSSes though I was on my cell at the time so I didn't posts

And Colin, on 2nd thought my clutch is probably still pretty good and should only have like 30k miles on it. I think I will probably pick up a trans that's a bit more local (and also comes with a 90 day warranty). Ross that trans is all yours if you want it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

After talking to Colin early in the afternoon I went outside and finished up the Heep. It wasnt until around 6pm that I started having this weird feeling inside, especially after laying underneath and holding up a heavy tcase for awhile exhirting alot of energy that I realized I hadn't eaten or drank anything yet that day. By the time I slid out from under the Jeep I had to clean up and go inside because my stomach felt like I just got punched. I still feel like crap.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahaha Colin I just went to put your number back in my address book (still working on recovering it) and double checked the address via google maps... I think I see your MJ in front of the house and Rick's XJ in the driveway. Google must have updated their satellite imagery fairly recently.

EDIT: I've done brake lines in a winter storm and a tie rod on 3" of packed snow, never done a fuel pump in the snow though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Its probably in the mid ninties here in PA and I just spent an hour shoveling over 5000 pounds of sand back into the hopper of the blender we use to mix sand and water. This was while the sand was flying arond everywhere because its windy, as pump over 10000lbs a minute and were loading the sand bins next to where I was standing. In full heavy, coveralls and a dusk mask. Holy shit im easy for fall!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Google maps did update sometime this summer, in the past couple months. I can see my brothers vehicle on the street in front of my house. Funny thing is they updated on one of the [relatively] few days I drove the Jeep to work. I can see both the car and motorcycle but the Jeep isn't there. Either that or it was updated over a wkend and I was out somewhere (since most of the time I drive either the Jeep or the motorcycle on wkends)

I had to go check. You can also see my dad's CTD covered near the garage.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah I wasn't sure what that was, figured it might have been the ramcharger but it was in the wrong spot.

:roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

95 XJ, 152k miles, 11 inches of lift, 36 inch tires (when you can fit 36s with no trimming you know you are too high or too rusty), uhhhhhh 4.10 gears (wut), dana 30/35 (hahahaha!), drop brackets, dual steering stabilizers, bling rims... I DUB THEE FLATBILLER JEEP

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, try doing a fuel pump in the freezing cold on 6" of snow or brake lines during a hurricane.

i welded up the exhaust manifold on the mj right after a blizzard in about a foot of snow

shit was mint

for fuel pumps i just cut a hole in the floor and do em inside the jeep lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

looks like I lost the pic of that downpipe weld :(

I really want to know who the hell did the welding on the 4cyl to AX4 brace on the other side, it was a work of art, it inspired me to think of porcupines and phlegm

aww phooey

shit held great.

the kid who had the thing before me was "questionable" to say the least

18 years old or so. from the city. moved into the country and wanted to lower the thing and put it on bags. thankfully i bought it from him and he got a pile of shit s10 to do that to.

the marker lights had green lightbulbs in them and im sure colin knows of the "speaker job" looks like he just cut the back panels with a razor blads and stuck some cotton in there until he couldnt fit anymore then stuck some cheapass speakers in it.
