Clocking ring v3 is mostly done. Instead of clamping it to the table, I let the drill find the center of each center punch mark and they're all dead nuts on. I even countersunk the holes and threaded the bolts into the case. All that's left is drilling the 5" hole out of the center again. And I'm going to find its center a little bit more precisely this time too...

I dont why people say we cant buy beer here. I know it was mentioned in this thread before but the Walmart near me and another Ive been to sell beer. I believe its all up to the towns whether or not they allow them too. I know the one near my house has a whole aisle full. I usually hit there to get food, beer, and supplies before camping.

one of the "emergency response team" weenies here at work was wandering around at this hour of the night and just asked me if I could please keep the d30 pinion I have sitting on top of my storage cabinet from rolling off... yeah... it's placed in such a way that the only direction it can roll is toward the center of the cabinet. Apparently he thinks the guy in the next cube over might get rambunctious and slam into the cube divider hard enough to roll it off the top ONTO SOME POOR CHILD'S HEAD EXPLODING THE WORLD or something.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that the strong odor of his second hand smoke was more likely to cause health issues than my d30 pinion gear sitting on a shelf. Don't these "emergency response team" people have better things to do than worry about silly shit like this and bug me about it while I'm working this late? Apparently not.

I told him I'd get around to it sometime and he wandered off to waste someone else's time :dunno:

Yeah I don't think a whole d30 would go very well... it's not a big enough shelf for that!

Edit: deleted my speculation on why some stores can sell.. just found the answer:

some Wal-Marts do sell alcohol -- beer and wine only.

The reason they can do this is that these locations are Super Wal-Marts so the town classifies them as grocery stores, which can sell beer & wine in MA. But only 3 locations from the same company can hold a liquor license in MA for grocery stores, so there should only be 3 super walmarts in MA with beer and wine. Mine happens to be one, go figure.

For liquor, some of the discount club stores sell liquor... BJ's, Costco. There is actually a quirky law in MA that you can buy alcohol from these club stores without a membership, and they cannot refuse that sale. After prohibition we were apparently bitter about alcohol, so we declared that nobody shall restrict the sale of alcohol except on the basis of age.
