Every week when I watch top gear I do so with a couple gin and tonics. Just seems right. :laugh: Now I shall be angsty that it's already over, though I do look forward to the fact that there are two seasons every year and IIRC the "winter" season tends to last a slight bit longer.

And also I just walked outside for a smoke... thankfully I only have one cig left in the pack and think this will be my last pack that I actually buy in a long while if not ever (only the 2nd pack I kept this year, 4th pack I bought this year... I give away 2 of the packs after a few smokes... I hate bumming smokes at thurs night cornhole so I buy a pack once in a while and give it to a smoker at the end of the night, but I digress)... so when walking out for a smoke I was surrounded by no fewer than 3 bats, never one mosquito... not sure what all the fuss is in my town about EEE and west nile :dunno: then again I live a couple miles from the lakes so maybe they are worse over there.

Rob, that really blows. How the hell did they figure you wanted cj shackles?

Looks like the massivemobile needs a couple of leaf spring bushings on the front when I get a chance... Bets on how much those are gonna set me back?

there just idiots they XXXX up again i want my money back, ill wake up tomorow and call em at 9, then take out my fustrations on some steel plate anf finish up control arm mounts and maybee some coil buckets

I think I might. Worst comes to worst, I pick it up, rock it for a little while, and then if I don't like it/change my mind, I build my own, and sell it.

Actually I'm going to the garage and wont be back on the computer all day. I'll try to clean up a little and snap some for you guys and post up tonight. But for now here's one that I have.

last night at HF I bought:
3 ton jackstands (just to put an axle on. they will never be holding up a vehicle.)
8 casters to make 2 welding carts
4 c clamps
a rasp
hooks for my peg board
more welding rods
vise grip style things with large jaws (link)
soapstone to write on metal with

i feel like there was more but i can't remember now.

Their welding consumables are one of the things I will never, ever buy actually. I don't trust the alloys they make their tools from, and there is no way in hell I trust the alloys and material purity of their welding wire or rods either.

FYI, that set of vice grips is the exact one I warned you about... return it now. Seriously, it is beyond worthless. If you try to put any kind of real pressure on something with the extra-long one, it flops sideways and the jaws pass each other instead of actually gripping, and that's the only one I bought the set for. Go to Home Depot and buy theirs, they are MUCH higher quality and still a decent price.

EDIT: I drove the MJ to work today... it felt like a fricken hotwheels car. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now, there is no way I can afford to drive the M54 to work every day :helpme:

I am more likely to trust the consumables that are on-par price wise with most of the other stores. than the tools that cost 1/10th that of quality tools.

FYI, that set of vice grips is the exact one I warned you about... return it now. Seriously, it is beyond worthless. If you try to put any kind of real pressure on something with the extra-long one, it flops sideways and the jaws pass each other instead of actually gripping, and that's the only one I bought the set for. Go to Home Depot and buy theirs, they are MUCH higher quality and still a decent price.

Interesting - did you try to clamp any sheetmetal? I bought that set for my floor replacement project since I wanted the long reach to get new floors pressed against the frame edges well, and all the darn thing would do is flop sideways. It would probably do better if you tack welded a couple small pieces of flat stock to the ends of the jaws, but I decided I'd rather just return it and get a handful of good quality shorter ones instead.

I haven't tried that yet, no... I might modify it, but I'd rather not. We'll see how it goes. I have 30 days to return it and I have the original packaging.
