THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Move to NH. If you move to the real NH towns I think it's a requirment that you have old vehicles that don't move.
Know of any fixer uppers with a decent amount of land for less than 60k?

If so I'm totally in.

EDIT: by decent amount of land, I mean enough land that I can satisfy the "old vehicles that don't move" requirement.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pros: I like the price and the land... my bet is that it's in a development with a HOA though, which means a bunch of busibody grandmas will keep me from having fun.
Cons: Probably in a HOA, mobile home, short sale.

I wasted six months on the last short sale I attempted... I refuse to try another. It's just not worth my damn time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Problem I see is most stuff around here in the sub $60k are single wides. I dunno if you want something like that or not though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah... I'd prefer to avoid it :(

I'm really looking for a wreck of a house that's being sold for land value - the foundation and frame need to be solid and I'd like it to have functioning water/sewer/utilities, but past that I can fix the rest.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Or that the houseis out in the middle of nowhere NH and is 45 minutes to the nearest gas station, grocery store, ect...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wouldn't mind living in a single wide if it had enough land and was cheap enough (plus close enough that I could get to work, which is the hard requirement).

And this morning just went from "meh, not bad" to "holy hell shits hitting the fan". Only good thing is that shit will be hitting the fan for maybe a couple hours but one requirement is that updated need to be provided by this afternoon so hopefully won't end up staying super late today.

And I am still torn on driving down. Like I said, I wanted to use this wkend to get some work done; unibody tie-ins or something. And I would only be able to be down for saturday wheeling since I wouldn't be in PA until AT LEAST 8 or so on Friday (that's assuming I can get the OK to bail out of work at 2PM). That's the big reason I am hesitant. If I could be down on thurs night I would probably be all over that, but since it wouldn't be till friday idk.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Busy day for me, getting ready for NACfest, trying to find a few apartments to check out while I'm down there, and figuring out what the hell is going on.

On another note, apparently the only reason why I haven't gotten an official offer letter yet is that they don't have a copy of my transcript yet, which was just sent out. Who knows, I may have an unofficial offer letter in my email by this afternoon? that would be RAD.

Off to fill my N2 tank and start packing up my tent and chit.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And Scott, drive down with Ken! He's leaving Friday afternoon / night also

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Kyle, I'd love to. But most of my family is up here and I haven't even begun to look for a job down there... while I have found a possible opening that looks amazing (i.e. exactly in line with my interests) in Marlborough.

Maybe I should see what I can find down there. In the meantime, I'm probably here for at least a while.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Linders is a private, we-pull-it-you-pay yard, actually. It's the parent company of Sam's. They just put all the junk they don't care about (old models, burned hulks, badly smashed vehicles) in Sam's and the late-model stuff and good vehicles in Linders.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Who's going to Everetts again sometime soon?
I might, maybe? What do you need? I don't know what time they close but I could swing by sometime this week after work if they are open later than Freetown (freetown closes at 4 which sucks, but I think everetts is open later). Either that or I will probably go this wkend if I don't talk myself into going down to NACfest for a couple days.

And idk if Ken will have any spare room in the MJ with all his booze and the spare Jeep he is bringing  My reasoning for not going down is less of a "I don't want to make the drive" and more of a "I can probably make better use of the time if I stay up here" type of thing. Maybe I will caravan down with Ken (I'll take the car) incase the MJ dies. I could offer a ride somewhere and/or a spare set of hands in swapping an engine on the side of the highway :gee:

Edit: and holy shit that house looks badass. I wish I could find a shack with small lot and a not oversize/heated/AirCon garage for that price up here

Everetts has the front fender I need. Black 01-03 Civic LH side. But the junk yard near me has 3 of them but I don't know what color. And I would assume if they had the fender they would have the entire car and that in turn would have a seat.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Gotcha. I could try and swing by one of these days. lmk if you want me to. I just called and they are open until 7 so I could probably make it there if I skipped going to the gym (and I'm pretty sure making me skip the gym is not going to be too difficult )

Do they have the fender posted on carpart or did you call them to find out if they had it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If they have the fender on carpart it probably means they're going to bend you over for it, and not let you pull it. I don't like yards like that.

EDIT: Mark - yes, definitely!
