Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You guys are missing the point entirely

DID I REALLY JUST SEE A PIC OF MARK'S XJ ON IT'S TIRES, DRIVING?!?!?!?

Guess we may not be able to have NACFest, with the world ending and all... Mark, you should go.

It is driveable, just not save to drive. I took it around the block. I think I just need to put more air in the tires.

Yes, I was hoping to do the t-case swap, was about to do it too, then I realized I don't work fast at all, and I wanted to try to drive the Jeep back to school, but that didn't happen. Hopefully next weekend.

Yes you saw my Jeep on its tires, Yes the world ended, no I'm not going to NACfest.

Looks sick, what size SX's are those again?
36

wasen't that supposed to be done a year ago?
Most likely.

I'm never buying Alloy USA X-joints again. One of them is already gross. I believe I found the cause of my leaky inner axle seal.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so tired....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

boohoo

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Really don't want to be at work right now.

I also need to find someone with 36's on 5x4.5 lug pattern rims that I can borrow one tire for (literally) a couple min. I just want to try and bolt one up so I can mark my fenders and when I do my high clearance rockers I can cut the 2x6 short enough that I can later tub said fenders to clear 36" tires.

On 2nd thought I could just use a tape measure and achieve the same thing, but that's not nearly as much fun as seeing my rig with a 36" tire on it :rof: Not that I am going to 36's any time soon, but I just want to plan ahead and make sure stuff is cut to length from the start.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm still behind on getting everything packed/ready for NACfest
I'm not to far behind but I have a feeling tonight it going to be a late night.

I've still got to:
- pack everything
- change the acc belts in my truck
- go shopping for food, etc.
- pick up some more/new non-plastic fire extinguishers
- registration for the trailer

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah... I still gotta build my trailer hitch if I'm gonna do anything fun :shiver: and I have nowhere to build it. Going to be interesting to say the least.

Other than that, I have an entire jeep worth of spare parts to haul out of storage and pack into the back of the MJ.

I have a stock Class III from a GMT800 platform Silverado you can have if it helps... haha!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have to:

- Bolt in gas tank
- fab up trailer ramp pins with Ross
- fix CB mount/cabling (if I have time)
- pressurewash XJ (caked with mud)
- pack toolbox
- pack clothes, etc. all into truck
- load up trailer
- make sure radiator isnt leaking in the XJ (looked wet yesterday)

hahaha, if it's the right shape it might actually help. I'd love to be able to just cut new frame brackets, cut the old ones off something else, and then weld the new brackets on instead of finding someone to weld the receiver tube onto the crossbar, since I don't trust my 110v to booger something like that together. How much would you want for it, if it is something I could use?

EDIT: oh yeah... my todo list is kinda big:
* pack beer, buy more whiskey since we kinda finished it off while camping last weekend
* pack engine, transmission, transfer case
* pack front and rear driveshafts
* gut and clean d35, get rid of housing, pack guts as spare parts
* pack spare alternator, starter, water pump, power steering pump, intake manifold + brackets, thermostat, thermostat/waterpump/intake manifold gaskets
* pack spare radiator, spare brake lines, some fuel+transmission hose and fuel injection clamps
* pack brake bleeding hose, coolant, oil, dexron, brake fluid, gas can, P/S fluid, diff lube, RTV
* pack electrical tools, brakeline tools, junkyard toolbag, engine hoist, hydro jack
* pack trail kit
* pack sleeping bag, tarp, ropes, pulleys, tent stakes, tent, hammock, BUG SPRAY!
* pack assorted food and cooking utensils
* install new air filter, CB radio, front recovery points, hopefully hitch/rear recovery points
* bring stuff for swap meet
* drive many hours
