THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Storage unit is quickly filling with jeep parts.

Rob - OK, just text me an hour or so in advance of showing up so I know when to expect you, I'll be around all weekend except going to a BBQ in marlborough later tonight. If it's gonna be next week let me know and I should be available after business hours.

EDIT: got my mig bottle filled, can't wait till I need to weld something again. Price was OK so I figured I'd fill it up and when it's empty, trade it in + cash for a full 40/80 bottle.

Dumb question but what's the difference between a np-231 and a np-231J <-- never heard of that one before.

Yeah really  I am up to almost 100 miles on the gears. Will probably get to around 150 today I hope. All this means is that next week is yet another period of time that I can't ride the motorcycle to work  oh well, gotta break the gears in so I can hopefully show up at lobsters. Not sure if I will be wheeling but I am aiming to be there (with a Jeep) at least.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's really the perfect drive to break in the gears. almost exactly 30 miles and just a nice enjoyable cruise out to Plymouth and down the waterfront. I love driving the Jeep, i forgot how great it is. And 4.88s are awesome since my tires are no bigger than a 32" diameter. No more downshifting for a hill, just a bit more skinny pedal does the trick :D And my dummy light tells me to shift into 3rd gear at 15mph. heh. Awesome :rof:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

awesome scott, get that shit broken in!

i did some more practice booger welds, and a piece of slag dropped into my shoe and burned my ankle a bit. lesson learned for today - wear long pants and/or boots when welding, that shit hurt.

i also just jump started one of my housemates' cars, and her friend let out this gem: "your jeep has shocks?!" lollll

I am now at 120 miles of the break in. Doing another 30-60 tonight (probably 30) and then another 120-150 tomorrow I think. Then it will be 60-90 miles per day if I drive the Jeep to work, and 30-60 miles per day if I don't drive the Jeep to work.

There is no and/or in the long pants comment. You can get slag down your boots almost as easily as your shoe (or I am very unlucky and slag finds my boots often). Wear long pants.

Oh and if you tear your welding gloves.. get new ones soon. I had a HUGE piece of slag find it's way int a small hole in the index finger of my glove and burned 2 holes into my finger before it went out/cooled down (one went right through my finger nail). It wasn't pleasant. Now I have new gloves that I picked up the other day. Can't wait to weld and not constantly worry that I am going to burn the sit out of my hand.

If you don't want to paint them spread peanut butter on them and let it sit for a while. Then wash it off. The oils in the the peanut butter will make the flares look like new again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Haha somehow my POS won best in class at a show today in the 31/32 inch tire class. Also I have a newfound respect for WK's. This one guy was beating the piss out of his. And I took a ride in a stock JK that the dealership was trying to sell. Still not a big fan but it rode nice.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

list of things that was suposed to be done to johnnys jeep today

install alloy shafts frt & rear
install rear aussie from my blue jeep
install new frt hubs

well everything is in but basicly have issues with everything and ill have to tear everything apart to fix it right, first one of the rear wheel studs is stripped, it was brand new but thread must of been damaged ot somthin, 2nd rear aussie isnt racheting as smoothly as it did when it came out, i have no idea whats up with that, and last one of the full circle clips on the frt alloys wasnt installed prperly we got it on and its fully seated but it looks bent best thing to do is to pull it apart and install new clip, im honestly at the point of selling all my jeep shit at the moment i think its almost time for a new hobbie
