Two words for you:

Oil Pan.

i was thinking that the ram would come up in front of the harmonic balancer that that space right there. I don't have that radiator support anymore that lower section is a run of 4x.250 plate and on the bottom is some small .250 thick angle iron.I could be completely wrong however since I don't have a ram to even test that theory completely.

You got me there.

You are going to have to move you axle VERY far forward to get the ram to come up in that area. At that point you can kiss your spring perches and header panel goodbye 'cause you ain't going to be able to use them.

I know you'll have to move that axle forward anyway to clear those tires of yours, but for reference I moved mine forward about 2.5" or so. I am nowhere near putting my ram in front of the balancer. Granted I have a different mount setup than the one you linked, but that isn't going to change all that much.

Does anyone know where to get some GL-1 gear lube, that isn't in 55 gallon drums?

My boss was wondering, as he has some old tractors with components in the gear boxes that that the current GL-5 will eat away. He hasn't really had much luck.

Yeah, don't use GL-4 or GL-5 in the older stuff. Not good for the bronze stuff.
IIRC, GL-2 can be substituted, but running GL-1 would be best.

I would start call hydraulic shops and the good old fashioned tractor (like a Massey Ferguson, Kubota, or New Holland dealer) places in your area. I'm sure some of them have it or would sell some out of their 55 gal drum.

Mark try Napa...they can get GL-3 stuff which is what I needed for the J20 and I'd bet they have sources for other varieties as well. Otherwise, an obvious place to check is Tractor Supply.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wtf, so i just tried to kickstart the bike (not fun with how bad my throat is feeling right now). Didn't work. Tried to roll start it down the hill 3 or 4 times, no luck. Got it back to the driveway thinking I would have to tear the carb down again but said 'ill try a few more kicks' and she fired up on the first kick. :banghead: I guess I shouldn't be angry but why didn't it start when I tried to roll start it
