THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

As stated earlier I would have one right now but I didn't realize I had 220V available :( I feel like I wasted money which I HATE doing. Oh well. I keep telling myself if I just go real slow I can weld the world with my 110V deal....

Edit: rofl, I just checked my old ebay feedback and saw "FAST PAYER! GREAT EBAYER! NOT A NAYSAYER! WOULD VOTE FOR IF RUNNING FOR MAYOR!" Fawk yeah, time to get into politics via Ebay

shoulda got a DVI. what size 110 is it? i dont see anything on a cherokee build that a 110 wouldnt do. hell, i woulda built my 60 no differently even if all i had was a baby welder, its all about techinque/prep.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Didn't get to weld today, had to drive to Westboro to get the TV. What an ordeal, but we have it now.

Did get the A-pillar bent back to shape (somewhat) with Adam's help. Windshield going in tomorrow night.

I thought you were all set with that but if you think it still needs more let me know. I've had some experience in fixing vehicles with that type of damage before and I can bring my porta power which works pretty good at moving them back to square.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

and boom there goes the dynamite

no rollover/pillar damage is complete without the use of a porta power, they make such awesome work of things. if i did any sorta work that require unbending stuff, i wouldnt hasitate to get one. i was down right shocked at the things it could do in the hands of some real talented people.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Iw atched a couple good videos of it at VOC in highschool. We took someo f the welding class movies when we had a sub.

I didn't know of those during the time I was shopping, or if I did see them then it was out of my price range. It's a millermatic 135. I figured if I went slow I could do most anything I need... I just figure a 220V would help with my lack of patience.

Pretty funny chit right there.
:roflmao:
What's so funny? You gonna reply to my PM or just ignore me? :D But really, if you want any of my tires make an offer... I am willing to separate tires/wheels and such, but you pay any additional cost it ends up running me. The ones I am most set on keeping are the LTBs but if you give me what I paid then I may be willing to move them.

Weld with thermite. That's what all the cool kids are doing now.

Badass. I love thermite. I have a torch setup and will be learning torch welding but my only concern with that approach is the effects of the heat on the surrounding steel.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thermite is great if you need to weld like... a railroad track rail to another rail :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Me too. I like the Crane and Solid ones better, but they are almost twice the cost.
stock knuckles with a 1/2" of plating and a keyway will just have to do...
Ha! Good luck with 1/2" I had a hard enought time getting 1/4" to conform.
id rather buy gears/install/locrite for that money. as awesome as they are, i cant justify the money for them. what are your plans for steering?
After spending the time plating mine, I can tell you I can justify the cost. If I had to start over, I'd lay down teh $550 and just get the Reid's. Evening if it held the completion date up awhile.
dont got a welder or know how
Oh come on now Rob. You got the know how to learn. I believe in ya! ;)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

there's a cat which i think is in heat on my porch from my room. damn is that meowing annoying. time to go to bedd

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Depends on how much tread is on the various tires IMO.

PS are you gonna be around any nights this week? I need to spend tomorrow evening cleaning but any other time I can pick up that gas tank if you managed to get ahold of it.

EDIT: Kyle, a string of firecrackers will solve that problem very quickly

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i don't have any fireworks! evertime i've gone through NH lately has either been really early or really late going snowboarding, so the fireworks stores aren't open. i could certainly go for some good old fashioned roman candles though....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

most are about 1/2 tread, iirc.
And ill be around most of the week at night, and ill see if i can grab that tomorrow for ya.
I was going to see if you wanted to do comanche stuff one night anyway.
