THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so it looks like i might need a warn premium lockout (just the outermost part). where would i get just that?

you need to buy a new pair of locking hubs basically

BUT i have kinda good news for you

i did some digging and found 3 times the amount of hub parts i thought i had

BUT i have 3 different styles of hubs.

stock j-10: which uses old style warn hubs but ugly cheap plasticy outers

not so old style warn: minor differences between the old style and new style

and a new style warn cap that is bustid.

and some drive slugs with bling chrome caps.

it doesnt appear you can retrofit any of it to use newer caps with older hubs and vice versa, but i have it all soaking in some brakleen right now. i'll find out and bring it to ya tomorrow and we should be able to figure something out.

worst case scenario, i have a complete stock j-10 warn hub and matching cheesy lookin' cap you can have.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmm, thanks. i have a mile marker cheezy lookin hub, i was just hoping to keep the warn premium. i'll bring what i have too...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

WAITTTT

doesnt that axle use ford shit?

time to cross reference part numbers

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yes, this axle does use ford stuff. do you have more ford parts? or less chance...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what year are your outers?

up to 76 is old school
77 and up is new school

ford and gm shit is the same, its just year differences

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the whole axle is a 77+ afaik...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

travis just confirmed that it's all '77 stuff

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ok. we'll figure that crap out tomorrow...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So question for y'all... Ordering a ruffstuff diff cover for the D30 and a 9" pinion guard.

For the 9" pinion guard: are there different pinion guards for big vs small bearing axles? I only see one 9" pinion guard on the site so I assume there must only be one... valid assumption?

For the D30 cover: any value in getting countersunk holes? Does it come with hardware for said countersunk holes or do they use the same bolts?

Yes. Comes with hardware for the countersunk holes, haven't installed mine (STILL working on this ridiculous d30 build), but supposedly it'll keep the housing from flexing more with countersunk heads.

counter sunk holes are awsome, the bolts never get XXXXed up when the smash the cover into the rocks

Thanks, now THAT is EXACTLY what I wanted to hear. Since I am getting 4.88s I need to get the least flex possible

This is the only reason I could think of, though I suppose it is enough of a reason to do the countersunk holes in itself.
