THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Rob,
I'm sure you can find some used tanks & stuff at a yard, but if for whatever reason you can't find a non-rotted skid, I'm pretty sure they're about ~$35ish new through Crown, the straps are short money, and I forget on the tank.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ooo, let me get my 70 to figure shit out and ill get back to ya
ok, tell me how much you want (if any) and I'll chop it off and bring it on the 17th if I remember

Best thing I got at everett's was emblems. They decided to fly away. I caught them though. Sneaky emblems...
haha. Yeah, I hear you on them sucking, I couldn't find half the stuff I wanted because there were only like 4 or 5 XJs, but their prices couldn't be beat.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, prices are good, everything else sucks. I am probably driving down to check out that other JY I mentioned this weekend. Hopefully pretty good, apparently they have an all you can carry day too. We will see.

Edit: Why do I feel like I should just go to UJ and get it over with

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

haha some peaple think the new RC long arm kit for tj's is great, tell me wheres the flex of the long arm kit? and no stability at all, what shit

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLinByxLGKc

that is far from impressive. looks like they need to get the rest of thier suspension in tune. most any backwoods hack can make longarms flex and perform nice everywhere else, i dont see why they can't.

You'll hear mixed opinions but try the one before everett's too if you're going down there. Some of the guys there pull numbers out of their asses for prices(sometimes way too high but sometimes very low). For either place do not pull anything until you have gotten a price and try to get it written or printed out. Sometimes you'll be told $100 then go pull it, come back and be asked for $200 from another person. It's happened more than once on big items to me and colin.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Also, they have a super fast turner over rate for cars. Faster than I've seen at any other junkyard(probably because they're one of the yards that smoosh cars). So you can go there one day and see a ton of one type of car and come back a week later and it's changed drastically. If you want something you know is at everett's dont wait even a minute longer than you need to. They've smooshed multiple nice MJ's there after they've been there for like a week. Again, I don't have work until noon tomorrow so if you need hand i'm close.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I have always seen the place next door to everetts but never was sure if it was a you-pull-it yard so I never stopped in. Ken mentioned it last week and I still wasn't sure. I will have to go there. I think I may make everetts my saturday morning stop.

I think this sat will be everetts (I may not even take many tools in... just see what's new at first), then place next door, then down to the other one off rt 140. I gotta try and find a D44 from a ford and one from a waggy. so I will find the ford in a JY and go from there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you're looking for a waggy dont bother down here. You wont find one. There's usually one or two up by Travis though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mmmhhmmm. Jacks and holland's

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

AWESOME! My mother was asking me if I needed my helmet to drive the Jeep. My father just came in asking if he could drive it to work tomorrow :D My father actually trusts the Jeep now (when I bought it he asked why I bought such a piece of s***).

For the first time ever though I actually had to say that no, I highly recommend he doesn't due to the axle issues. Oh well. Sucks for him.

Thanks for the heads up - I doubt I'll be pulling anything huge there, but it might happen. I saw the place next door and considered it but I was already nearly late for heading to Boston so I had to bail.

Huh, probably faster than Sams then? Sams generally cars last a week or two unless they're a rarer vehicle - the white 4dr 96 sport I was pillaging disappeared 2 days after I took the front doors off, right before I went back for the rear doors. The black MJ they had there (manual, 4wd) lasted like two months though, and their red cj7 or yj (not sure, I suck at wranglers/anything not cherokees) has been there for at least 6 months. They have some ancient willys thing that's also been there pretty much since I started going there but it might be gone now.

I really need to spend some time thinking about what the hell I actually need, so I can do a good full sweep, I usually forget a few things even though I try to write everything down.

I'm shopping CL. Found one in ME that I will be going to look at (if the owner ever emails me back).

I figure I will shop over the next 2-3 months to get parts axles cheap, then start building. I want to keep it as cheap as possible. Yes it may end up costing $2000 but oh well. I really just want the D44 it to be done for June.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My power steering pulley is cracked.
To the junkyard! ::puts on cape*::

*cape: in this context, a cape is comparable to a an outfit (particularly Jeans) that one does not care about and uses for junky purposes (usually including an old/dirty sweatshirt and/or coat)
