wow, must be.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

refresh my memory. 4 door is the big jeep? (assuming little jeep doesn't have locking hubs...) i say check your front driveshaft for balance...

Ya its the big Jeep.

I doubt its the driveshaft cause I've had front driveshaft vibration before, and this was way worse. I drove for 500 miles in front wheel drive in Sept-Oct, and the vibe was not there. I also only have gone wheeling once, and I would have noticed if I hit it that bad to make it this unbalanced, and I don't remember hitting it at all, and I'm sure Colin or Adam would have noted it.

I'm going to have to recheck the pinion nut, and check the t-case output. I'll double check the shaft, but I don't htink its that.

At least I have the lock outs to get me to the trail, and I won't be going 50 on the trail, so I'll be covered there.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it makes sense that it could be that. my output yoke on my SYE came a little loose not that long ago and it was causing some vibes...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm tempted to take the nut all the way off, clean the threads with alcohol or something and and put a low strength loctite on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's been a while, I can't remember what I did when I put it back together. I found it loose when I was pulling the drivetrain after the fire. While it was out I ended up tearing down the case and installing new output bearings, output seals, fork pads, and a good cleaning. I think I might have loctited it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it would make sense for it to be loose after a fire. i bet the little seal in there melted right away.

it was a very small underhood fire, was nowhere near the case
