THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

its got the crappy 6.4 tho, fast as hell until you put a load on it then it just makes a lot of noise and cant get out of its own way

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ken, your electrical, can you tell me why this says 50amp max for all branches? (I'm assuming it means you can only have the fuses add up to 50 amps, correct?)

Sounds right to me. It's probably because the bus terminal along the supply side of the block is only thick enough to handle 50 amps. If you popped it open and soldered 12ga wire down onto the sheetmetal strip they are likely using, it'd probably handle 70 or 80 amps fine.

i need an engine hoist
-or-
im gonna find two trees, get my chains and pull that chit old school style.

we totally did it at camp-a-while campground when a friends motor blew up on I-80 getting to rausch creek

There is no supply side of the block. All the circuits are independent of each other (The opposite side looks exactly like that. Use a connector in, then it goes to the fuse, then to the connector out). That is why I'm really confused. I have a few at home, but I'm in Boston right now, so I can't go look.

That's kinda wacky. I have no idea. Maybe they actually mean "all of these branches are each good for up to 50 amps" or something.

I'd just run it with whatever you want on it, and when it melts, say "well I guess that's too much" and pick something stronger. I'm rewiring an underhood XJ fusebox to be my power dist center though, picked a few up for 20 bucks a whack. One's going under the hood, the other in the trunk next to my OBA when I set it up properly.

EDIT: rollin out now... off to NH

I have an extra PDC I'll be using on the green Jeep in about 5 years when I get around to doing something to that one.

I want to use this on the woody, and I sure as hell don't want it to melt and cause a fire. I want to use this as a clean way to mount my fuses for my headlight harness.
I'll be using 12gauge wire for all the lights, and most likely 85/80w bulbs in the headlamps, and regular 55w bulbs in the fogs. What do you think I should use for fuses?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so ive been thinking of taking a foot out of the back of the green jeep after i link it for a better departure just wondering what peaples thoughts are on this

Whew... rough two past days... a few of you know why.

My rear "bumper" is right where the hatch would close on a normal cherokee. So my length is just you had riding around for several months without a bumper at all. :laugh2:
Anyway, my departure angle is well, 90 degrees I guess. The back of the tire is even with the back of the XJ, but that is all due to the massive stretch I have back there.
If I had to answer your question, I'd have to know how you plan to do it first.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

everything ok, bill?

body wise i wanna cut where the rear quarter window is, move the rear part of the body forward then weld it together, then weld on a 97+ hatch with a flip open window to get to the fuel cell, or maybee weld sheetmetal where the quarter windows were, i guess for the fram and floor ill just cut off the rar foot as i got a lil rot there where the shackle boxes are, kinda hard to explain with out showing my plan on a actuall cherokee

It is now. My dog had to go in for emergency surgery due to an odd internal growth the vet could not explain. They are doing a biopsy on it to find out more. It was removed today and now he is on more pain meds than I've ever had, but he is pulling through ok. I'd post a picture of what they removed, but you do not want to see it. Trust me.

Sounds fun, I get the idea. I will not be around to help you with that. I'm never doing it to another XJ again. :D
