The laming of my state.

Hey that KY plate would go well on Beez XJ, in fact would match the bend over sticker he's got.

I thought the new Indiana plates look bad, but those plates are certainly worse, when I get plates for all the vehicles next month, I'm going to truck plates on everything to stay away from the new Indiana tags.

We needs a good plate with the word redneck or hillbilly on it....and a picture of a hillbilly...these PC plates drive me nuts.

I don't think the new indiana is half-bad....amber waves of grain is hangin in the garage with the other zillion plates......

but you wanna see a ghey plate, well, here it is!

I guess there is ONE up side to all this. As soon as word gets out west here, San Francisco will be wanting to leave California!
Kentucky, lock up your sons!

Dave, my ALL TIME FAVORITE Idaho license plate is this one:

I have this one in my collection.....

love it....

one thing though.........I'm wondering if you are as sick of your state's claim-to-fame being potatoes, as I am of mine being "land of lincoln"......

when our new plates became available.....big surprise, it was the head of lincoln, I traded them in for this one:

Beez, yeah, that's just the standard Idaho plate. Those are the one's my dad likes. You can get those with a graphic on the side as well. Like a skier, or a snowmobile, or a river raft. They're not bad. If you were from Idaho, you may not like that plate quite as much because you see it everywhere, it's the most common. Good looking plate for sure though.

I don't mind the fact that Idaho is "famous for potatoes", what bothers me is when people think that's all they have in Idaho, or that's all they think of when they think of Idaho.

Crazy thing is, I don't even live in Idaho anymore, but I will always be a Native Idahoan. I still have, and always will have Idaho plates on my Jeep. I have Washington plates on my car tho.

I left CA for college in ID, U of I in Moscow ... I talked to a gal on the road who claimed to know every state's nickname. She was a Boise native, and thought that Idaho's nick must have something to do with potatoes. It took an out-of-towner (from CA no less) to tell her it was the Gem State.

There was (is it still there?) a sign just outside of Moscow proudly proclaiming itself as the pea and lentil capitol of the world :)

Thats funny Tucker, typical of a Boise Gal to claim things like that, women there are different :D

As far as the sign, I don't really know. I've not been in that area much at all. I'm not too far from there now here in Eastern Washington though.

I grew up in South Eastern Idaho (Pocatello) which is right near Idaho Falls. Pocatello is Bannock County, Idaho Falls is Bonneville County. Then I moved to Boise where I spent the last 6 years. Boise is Ada County.

Now I live in Washington. From an area standpoint, this place couldn't even begin to compare to anywhere in Idaho.

This is destined to go down in the history books alongside the infamous PA "You're got a friend in Pennsylvania" plates of '84-87.

Some print vendor is selling states on this horsesh*t.

Pa had nice, deep blue plates with reflective yellow letters from 1984-2000. We even made 'em out of Aluminum so as to not rust.

Then, all of the sudden, the state boys switched to the new printed face...white with yellow and blue "fades" at the top n bottom. And a nice big "WWW.STATE.PA.US" along the bottom.

Cheesy as can be. Well... maybe not as cheesy as Ky, but pretty darned cheesy nonetheless.

And... they made the wholesale changeover in a little over a year.... rather than letting natural attrition (aka, folks getting new plates with new cars, etc) replace most of them in a couple of years.

At least they didn't charge us anything extra......

Think I'm gonna opt this one. I really don't want the Teletubby sunshine following me around. They really should have a plate with horses smoking and drinking bourbon. That would be more representative of the state.

If you see that....

If you manage to actually see that, then the quad coil is either stolen...or its where it should be at 95mph...on the trailer...

Anyone from Idaho doesn't call them potatos, they call them SPUDS. :)

I like the old aluminum plates with black letters.

Later,
Lincoln
