The "Hope I get it done by WF Oh-Ten" thread

I have to start saving my unemployment money for some new tires. Assuming its going to be muddy there in March, I'm not even going to get out of the parking lot with the tires I have now lol

They'll hook up good at the track though! :D

The heep is melting in the garage.

I'm kicking myself for not pulling it in last night. The freezing rain is going to make everything a mess.

Can't waste a saturday though. Gotta get these HD brackets on and welded up.

CO gave us monday off (traditional following a change of command ceremony) so I've got all day monday with the kids at daycare and the wife at work to get some much needed things done. I'm just about done with the "have to's" and am moving on to the "want to's".

im hoping to make some rocker guards/rock sliders before wf.

Progress is being made... still have to swap in the 231 and SYE, but surprisingly the 249 isn't giving me any vibes, even without a T-case drop.

Since things are going so well I will probably be putting some orders in to JCR and Aussie for a few things before WF.

Also, found a set of 96-down XJ taillights, if anyone is interested...

Looks good Brad. Cardboard is looking for a driver side. I'll get ahold of him and see if he wants it.

Brakes bled. My new motive power bleeder is the poo.

Moved the axle back a hole on the spring perch. The clayton springs must have a different position for the stud than the bigoffroad ones did. This made the rear driveshaft way happier.

Got the HD Offroad brackets installed. I left the JKS lift shackles in and just laid them over about 60 degrees. They'll probably touch a little on the up travel, but the axle droops all the way out and there's plenty of shock left over. The ride is considerably softer than it used to be, even with the boomerang shackles it was still vertical.

Tune up yesterday. Trying to figure out why the mileage started to suck. I think it was the tiny air filter underneath the passenger hood vent full of water. Ditched the intake tube and filter and bought a very large K&N and fastened it to the end of the stock rubber elbow. It's not pretty, but I'll figure something out later.

Plugs, wires, cap/rotor and an oxygen sensor. My butt dyno tells me I don't have to push the pedal down halfway to maintain speed anymore. Time will tell on the mileage. I don't expect 20+, but recently 8-9 has brought the suck.

Are they really that good? I've been eyeing them for a while but since they're vehicle specific, I'm afraid to buy one for each vehicle (knowing I don't keep vehicles very long). Brakes on the Jeep are crap though, and it'd be nice to actually flush the lines instead of just bleed them.

Pick up a set of 37s, possibly a winch and call it good to go. As of right now it's in wheelin conidition just need some fresh rubber

Took me longer to fill up the bottle than it did to bleed the brakes. I really liked being able to pressure check the system for leaks and bleed the system without having someone pumping the pedal.

If you check Motive's site, you'll find the application guide. While the adapter I used was chrysler specific (plastic reservoir), the older ones with the square top use a universal adapter that fits on fords, toyotas and even the wife's mini.

Just depends on what you have and what you want to use it on. I was surprised that the adapters fit more than one vehicle. I bought the chrysler kit and the 1101 adapter because the chrysler adapter was more expensive by itself.

Find a fire extinguisher. And I'd say I'm ready I guess. Also trying to get the pre-reg site to work for me.

Got my 3 inch RC kit on extended brake lines on. Got the non disco front axle installed. Just got the alignment done. Fire extinguisher is in the jeep. still need to mount it. Still need tow hooks and first aid kit.
I need tires too.
Looks like im gunna make this one.

Right on man good to hear! I need to throw all my skids on now. My JCR t-case skid is on its way next week, my sliders are now off of the old jeep and the drivers side rail needs fixed. I ordered a new bolt kit for those as well. Also, gotta get the hitch on!
