OK, ok, that's two against the grill insert. I'll get the fuel skid or the winch plate. grumble grumble...I sort of thought it was cool...grumble grumble...

Oh, while I'm at it...I got a quote on a welded 2.5" cat back system with Magnaflow exhaust and flex pipe. Now to install my header...come on weekend!

I think the grill would be great, but paint a nice ranbow across it . . .

Look at what you have now:

I think the front end of that rig looks really REALLY good!

Think about fix'in the tork performance, not fix'in stuff that an't broke! :lecture:

Count me for against.

Get a skid! I was really careful because I don't have one.

That's 4 against and 1 for. I won't tell you who liked it, though. :wow:

I ordered the fuel skid from Tomken today (and yes, I thanked them for supporting Sierra Fest) and will sell my stocker to somebody for a cheap price to cover shipping of the new skid. I know I searched for about 2 years for a '99 skid when I had Old Blue and never did find one. Now I've got skids a plenty (not including the one in my shorts).

Great. Let's set something up then. I'll be ready next week, providing I don't screw something up with the header install this weekend. I'm looking for flex pipe and Magnaflow exhaust as a minimum. 2.5" pipe out the back would be good, but I may need to do that at a later time (funds running low, ya know? I'm also trying to rebuild my master bath and that chit is x-pensive).

Be sure to post some pics up of the completed exhaust along with your review of it. I installed the APN header on my last Jeep and didn't notice a change, but that was with a completely stock exhaust. This time, I want to do the APN with a custom downpipe mated to my Dynomax catback. Only interested in the downpipe if it's help with power or mpg's though -- be the guinea pig! :)

How did your door become unaligned? Body flex or did you smack it on something?

I'll post up pics of the exhaust upgrade for sure.

The door is an odd one, although common from what I hear. I never noticed the door problem while driving the three moderate trails this past weekend. After I washed the Jeep later that evening, I noticed the door not closing properly. I could lift it up about a half inch and there was free play at the lower hinge pin. Lifting it helps the door close.

I need to check out the hinges to determine the cause and fix. I am hoping it is just a worn out lower pin that just so happened to begin failing at the same time as the Sierra Fest runs. No damage, but just wear and tear.

I need to look at my lower hinge on my drivers door and see if that's my problem. All the other doors open and close fine.

Sweet. I'll take a price for 2.5" exhaust from cat to tail. I will purchase a Magnaflow exhaust and flex pipe from Summit, so anytime after that we can roll, providing the price is less than what I have been quoted at All Muffler.

If you can, get me the cost of non stainless 2.5" exhaust welded from cat back. No exhaust tip needed, cuz I'll just flatten it.

Changed my engine oil tonight with 5 quarts of Royal Purple 10W40 and a K&N oil filter. Kragen had a "sale" on the kit for 40 bucks. Engine sounds a bit happier now.

On a somewhat related note, I also removed my newly installed Champion Copper plugs that I have been running for about a week. Those babies caused my FM to broadcast static so I put my Bosch plugs back in until I figure something out. The Bosch looked like new when I removed them and they seem to run fine.

This has been a Frog Blog routine maintenance update.

I'm going to Synthetic next time around.

"Sale"? haha.

I remember that one. I sold a few. Its a good freaking deal, 30 bucks for 5 quarts and a filter. Normally its close to 60.

Aren't you running 6 quarts though?

how did you like your locker on the Sierrafest trip? was it hard to turn on slickrock and dv?? I havent put mine in yet, but after going through some of those sharp corners, it seems like it would make things more of a nuisance. BTW, i drove past you guys at the entrance to strawberry on the way to the Rubicon. I waved hahaha

Not hard at all, in fact, I felt the Spartan locker performed flawlessly until the very last obstacle on Slick Rock. That might be something else and not locker related, but I had little to no power to the front wheels and could not make it up the rocks. Otherwise, I had no problems and turning in the tight curves was fine.

really?? and i think everybody had problems at the end of slickrock. Although Kevin (100xj) made it up open/open! I had to get winched up. Well as you know, i bought the front aussie and have had thoughts of sending it back. But they wont take it back, even though it hasnt been used. So i mine as well put it in. I just wasnt sure how the turning was.

So when you turn, your front end doesnt hop around?
