The End Is Near!

GOOD. I have been reading about this case. It is rediculous. She will probly move to CA, you now what the outcome would have been out there....

These folks seem to forget, that the Constitution applies to rights.

The DMV in IL, always is telling us a liscense is a privlege not a right.

On CNN they had a little example of what middle-eastern countries require for ID photos...all require NO VEIL WORN (except Saudi Arabia, where women aren't allowed to drive)

I'm glad they told her to pound sand. Nothing pisses me off liks some wannabe religious whacko.

Give her a one-way ticket to Riyadh and rescind her citizenship.

I'm a really liberal, tolerant, latitudinarian sort, but the idea of a veiled license photo is so utterly preposterous. What ***ing use is an ID photo of your clothes?

Of course, here I am in Vermont, the last state that does not require a photo license (it's an option!). If they ever do, maybe I'll do a test case and tell them to photograph my hat.

:D :D :D

I am posting under my husband's profile, but I had to respond. I worked at a bank in Kansas when we were stationed there and honest to God, someone had an ID that was a photo of the back of his head. He argued with the DMV that it was a photo of him, so they let it go. I couldn't believe it.

her religion doesn't say she has to drive, or have an ID card.

exactly.

I'm a baseball hat kinda guy. I wear them quite often, and sometimes I forget I have one on.

Anytime I've had to take my picture at the dmv i have to take my hat off.

Maybe I should sue to protect my civil liberties.....

This wouldn't be a religious freedom case, I'd just flat-out cite "discrimination".....

Yah, you'd think that they'd get a clue.......all your DMV photos look like someone screwed a huge lightbulb into your neck, keep that skull covered.......... :D

Yes, she has a right to wear that, but she must give up that right to drive (at least for 10-15 seconds for the picture). It's a simple choice. Which one is more important?

Also note, she converted to that religion in 97. So it's not like there are not any photos of her face in existence.

My ex-girlfriend worked with a girl that wore one of those things. She converted also. She would do so much for attention. Once she even took it off because they went to a mall cause some good looking famous guy was there. Not saying this girl is starving for attention, but makes you wonder.

Next she will be suing BMW because their navigation voice is not available in Arabic.

Steve

If you can't get rich the honest way, sue someone.

There is actually a mug shot of her on the smoking gun from when she was arrested for abusing a couple of kids in her care (so the web site claims). The arrest was real, the mug shot could be anybody!

I'm not sure the veil would be a good idea while driving - looks to me like her peripheral vision would be limited.
