The Colorado Rant/Vent thread

I hate, cannot stand, dispise, that lil c**k sucker kids want to mess with you in traffic, not allowing you to change lanes, slow down to change lanes, speed up to change lanes, or do anything to get where you need to be. Then they get in front of you and brake check you to the point of skidding the jeep sideways all on Wads......

Im not known for my good temper. So I followed. not chased, not reckless, just followed. Just wanted to converse with why he thought the crap was funny as he was laughing the whole time.

Kid goes from bad ass to bitch real quick. pull sover and is call ing the cops "he is threatening me with a weapon". Now im pissed. Cuz if im gonna get in trouble fro threatening you with a weapon, im at least gonna make the charge worthwhile. So i get out of the jeep and the cocksucker yells out the window is damn near crying and peels out as he races off.

Now i have a high temper, a furious GF in the passenger seat - and no gratification for how that lil twerp was acting.

BEAT YOUR KIDS!!!!!!!

if ya make a kid think its ok to feel entitled and they can do whatever they keep doing it as adults. So beat you rkids. make em realize when you screw up it hurts.

The definition of stress is the inability to choke the living hell out of someone who desperately deserves it.

LOL. Mike, I've said it before -- you need to learn not to sweat the small stuff. BTW, its all small stuff.

I know. I was irritated at not finding any trucks like i was looking for and just driving around wasting time essentially. Then he decided to be THAT guy. and so did i in return lol.....

That '99 S-dime didn't pan out huh?

I agree Mike, people need to beat their kids. I beat mine all the time and he listens to me very well. He still loves me too so I see no negative to it. Now there is a difference between beating you kid and abusing your kidd, and thats a line people need to realize. People have taken the concept of abuse too far because others have taken the concept of a simple spanking too far. I don't care though, let some bitch call the cops on me for smacking my kid on his arse when he is being a brat at the store. When the cop ets there I'll have a responsible adult present to watch my kid as I then proceed to demonstrate the to little "child abuse" squeeler exatly what the difference is between a simple disciplinary spanking and actually beating the crap/abusing of my kid. I've never left any marks on my kid from punishment and I never will. All it takes is a simple smack to the bottom or the hand with a firm (not yelling) explanation of what they did wrong. Actually, now all it normally takes is for me to give him "the look" and he is pouting and doing what he is told. Does he run in fear from me or keep his sdistance from me? No, in fact we wrestle around or sit and watch TV together all the time. He also loves being in the garage with me and has even started trying to help me work on the jeep. Although his plastic hammer doesn't realy accomplish much, but he does help me put tools away and grab tools too to an extent.

My pop's theory on child rearing: "All a kid needs is a pat on the back, often enough, low enough, and hard enough."

Dutch, good job on setting boundries. I can't count the times I've seen an exchange between a parent and child, and wondered where all the adults were. Those are the kind of parents that get us all those new laws.

It can be hard sometimes, especially as I'm not known for being the calmest and most patient person to begin with. I just do my best to restrain and then isolate myself. Send himto his room or put him in the corner and then go out to the garage where I can calm down. I think the problem people have is that oncce they get to tah point they just lash out and the kid is unfortunately on the receiving end.

I think a lot of the problem is the stigma on being an agry person. You can't help it if thats how you're programmed, but you can help how you react to it. If you can't control your emotions then at least be disciplined enough to control your actions, remove yourself from the situation until you can calm down enough to handle it. I lashed out at my wife once while drunk, it scared the living shit out of me. We worked it out and she also learned that its best to just leave me be when I start getting mad. She has a tendency to just keep pushing and pushing when we get into an argument, now we havce the understanding that when an argument starts getting too heated that she needs to just let me go cool off. I'll come back when we're both calm and then we can work it out. She also now at least waits until I'm sober before starting a fight.

Kids disobey and anger parents, couples disagree and get into arguments. It happens, its part of life. How you handle the situation is what matters. Its better to leave an argument unresolved until a later moment than it is to allow things to get out of hand to the point that it can't be resolved.

I'm going to start calling Rich "Dr. Pheel". Good stuff ;)

I used brass ones, but I don't remember where I got them. I sprayed them with a thin cote of permatex headgasket spray before install and they sealed right up -- hope #3 is a winner!

I've been having problems getting my new fuel sender assembly to seal. After having a new O-ring and lock ring leak worse than ever, I relented and dropped the tank for a look. Turns out Airtex changed the lip on the sending unit. It won't hold a round O-ring, you have to use the funky looking flat gasket they provide.

I know, somebody will ask why I didn't use the flat gasket the first go-round. I did try to use it. With the tank in the vehicle, I didn't have enough hands to hold the sender, and get the lock ring started. With the tank on the ground, it was much easier.

As an aside, when the first O-ring came out, I noticed the rubber isolaters holding the fuel pump were swollen and hanging out of the bracket. I could rattle the pump around in the bracket, the electrical studs were pretty close to the steel frame. I took the isolaters off the five year old pump and put them on the new pump.

Thanks a lot Airtex!!!! Now, come to my driveway and help me mount that tank skid.

Are you certain that block isn't cracked around that freeze plug Frank? It might be hard to see with the freeze plug out, but with one in, it may be expanding the metal just enough to where you might see it.

I gotta do a full set of freeze plugs on this new XJ I acquired last night...... all of 'em are rotted and seeping. The one at the back of the block is leaking onto the flexplate and making a mess in the bellhousing...... THAT one isn't gonna be fun.

Thanks a lot Airtex!!!!
Thanks for nuthin!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flamemad:

I changed out the exhaust while I had all that room, mounted the tank and started hooking up the lines...the assembly is moving??? The lock ring is loose???

Yep, the gasket squirted inside the tank. To top everything off, the fumes from being mounted overnight made it swell.

I had a sneaky suspicion I should have gone to the junkyard before they closed.
