chopped off my muffler today.. I can actually tell when my jeep is on now! Im gonna order a thrush welded muffler before i get a ticket.

Yea it's the noise laws.... Plus I will need a muffler on it for when I smog it.

I have not had a muffler on my Jeep in over six years, you only need a cat for smog and it is not very loud.

Thanks brah! So I jut checked my papers. My jeep needs to be smoked in the next few days before I go to reno! Of course it has to be smogged right after I chop the exhaust! Anybody know of a good place to get it smogged at?

Legally it looks like you do. But thats probably one of the last things a cop will get you for. You may not need it for smog though (if Letterman speaks the truth ) which I think is interesting.

Well I talked to some guys at a trusted shop in my area today. They said that anything cut off past the last 02 sensor is fine and i can still pass smog. So letterman was right But since I already ordered the muffler, I'm gonna have them weld it on for me since I don't have a welder. Also Gonna have them pull that code for me!!

Don't spend money to get it checked until that code is cleared, you'll fail. Any check engine light will cause you to fail smog.

There is a place over off Durok, right next to the Motor Cycle shop that I take my jeep to for smog. Check for online coupons cause they have em. I dont remeber the name off the top of my head, but they are fast and you will pass.

That was the plan. Get it checked then get it smogged.

FAILED SMOG!!!!!!!! I am not pleased right now! Apparently my exhaust is very clean, but my computer needs to do a cold start reset or something like that. So i have to drive 40 miles from a cold start with exactly 1/2 a tank of gas. Guess im not taking the Jeep to Reno this semester! =(

I told you man. Having a code really messes with stuff.

When you clear it it puts it blank, so it needs to run all it's diagnostic stuff.

I'd recommend running a good 100 miles then doing it again.

Well its been a while since ive updated this thread. I have been really busy with school and just got home from KOH late last night. Probably one of the coolest events i have ever been to!!! Im making a slideshow with all the pictures right now.

I wheeled the Jeep on a few trails these past couple weeks up here in Reno. Ill get some pictures up when i upload the KOH video
