Yeah, right ...

"I just use that bat for batting practice. I picked it up by mistake." (Sammy Sosa)

I'd say that one ranks right up there with "The check is in the mail," and "Of course I'll respect you in the morning."

Oh, yeah -- and Martha Stewart claiming she didn't have any insider tip to dump that stock.

Baseball players are more than a little superstitious. I don't care if there were 10,000 bats in his locker, he knows which ones are corked. Basically, he just added a question mark to every significant acheivement in his career. Sammy Sosa, your table is ready, in the corner with Albert Belle, Graig Nettles, Wilton Guerrero, Billy Hatcher, and Norm Cash. Tonights speaker will be Gaylord Perry. Thank you, goodnight.

but honey, i thought you wanted the new 35X12.50 mud tires and front locker instead of the bedroom suit.

any baseball player who doesn't think he needs to start day 1 of training along with his teammates based on his average, is a jackass prima dona, and needs to go down.

Is there any defensible reason why a player would even HAVE a corked bat?

sadam is the 'weapon of mass destruction' :( count the graves of human lives murdered......we did the right thing.

However, the lie is that the Bush administration told us that Sadam "had weapons of mass destruction".

Regardless of whether Sadam is a monster of not, we were lied to. That's all I said.

Yes. He is in Chicago. What else would you expect form the capitol of corruption in the midwest? Remember the Chicago motto...it is only illegal if you get caught.

its not a lie.....

it just turned out not to be exactly true..........yet.

Right.

I just saw a headline saying the President Bush is going to tell us "the truth" about Iraq's WMD. I will be interested to see what he has to say, but the wording of the headline was enlightening ... if he (or his PR flaks) felt they had to put this out as "we'll tell you the truth," that suggests to me that either (a) the whole world thinks they've been untruthful until now (a distinct probability), or (b) they know they've been untruthful until now, but finally realized that everyone else knows it too so now they'll tell us a new lie to replace the old lie.

)No, I'm not a left-wing liberal -- I'm a swamp Yankee who distrusts all politicians equally.)

Yup, the only difference between an honest politician and a dishonest one is the honest one just hasn't been caught yet.
