Yes. Handing everyone a gun is obviously a bad idea.

My mindset is this. If I was a rapist or a home invasion thug as it is right now I would be very worried about breaking into someone's house and getting shot. If I was in Utah, Montana, Texas or Wyoming this fear would go up much more than if I was breaking into a house in NYC or Massachusetts.

However if the government puts more restrictions on gun owners. Even if it's not taking away guns but taking away laws like Utah, Florida and Texas has protecting home owners from getting arrested or sued if they shoot someone breaking in then I would be far less worried about what will happen to me.
