Just wondering if anyone knows right off the top of their head, the cherokee's had a 2.5 four cylinder in them (tech 4) would a 1989 chevy
s-10 2.5 be a direct bolt up in a cherokee that had a 2.5 in it?

no. Lots of wiring would be needed too. Not worth it. If you look you can find a used 2.5L for free.

No relation between the motors. They use different tranny bellhousing bolt patterns. That alone would torpedo your 'ez-bolt in' strategy.
