I've been looking for alittle bit with the intent on getting one for a 95 but have not really found one that i like. Just looking for what you run. Home made? brand? full engine/tranny/tcase?? just tcase? that sorta stuff just lookin for some imput. thanks again guys.

i have both TC skid and oilpan/tranny skid from Tomkin. i like them, both mounted easy, the bolts on TC skid are not flush that will be fixed.
the best price i've found. http://www.quadratec.com/

I run a T-case skid from Rusty's. price was right and it has held up. Looks the same as the Skid Row one, and the Rocky Road one. I do believe they are the same. and I run a Skid Row gas tank skid.
I haven't found a engine/trans skid that I like yet. Hope that helps. Oh, and if you have a NP242 t-case. Your going to have to have the skid mounted lower or use some washers to get it to sit lower than the crossmember. This happened to me, now I also have Rusty's Crossmember. Juice

I put on a factory skid thinking that I would eventually go aftermarket, but its help up really well. It will support the entire weight of my jeep (my tranny Xmember bent before the Tcase skid budged) and has held up to the rocks fine for me. For 20 bucks its a steal.
I like the aftermarket ones, but some of them are really really heavy and others just put too much material on there, protecting nothing in particular.

Not tough to home brew...

From 1x1 11ga frame...and skinned...

Whole underside... acts as a sled... nothing grabs.. just slides over... ;) ;)

the factory TC skid is pretty tough, the drawback is that it acts like a little shovel when it hits dirt.

works though I've abused mine pretty good, and it's in a lot better shape than the crossmember

ill vouch for the factory skid too. mine has held up great, and t has been abused. you can imagine at only 3" how much it gets hit.

Skid Rowd

I'm using a Skid Row plate on my t-case and it's working quite well. It was easy to install. My only complaint is that it was designed for a dropped t-case and mine is up where I think that it should be. As such it has a slight angle to it that might eventually pose a problem if I have to back out of something; it might act as a scoop.

Got any pics of the skid row installed? referably from the side? I just bought one, havwen;t put it in yet, I think it's kinda gay that it only fits right with a t-case drop and you have to basically bend it to fit a non dropped case.

this is what I want to do with mine once I get the welder up and running

thanks guys this gives me a few other ideas on what to do. I really like that cherokeenation one but my sliders mount right about where he has that skid bolt on:rolleyes: i have a 3 point slider. one right in the middle so that might be an issue for that.
