You need to either relocate the body side bracket...or re-drill the center hole on the bracket. The hardest part is getting the bracket off the body. those nuts are a bear. Soak them down with PB or similar penetrating oil. Remove the nuts, take the bracket out and size it up to be perpendicular to the linkage shaft. Then you can cut off the studs and re-drill some mounting holes. Use some self tapping bolts to secure the bracket.
That's how I did it and it works fine...OR you could research a Novak shifter and do away with the z-bar linkage all together. A little pricey for me, but I have more time than money anyway.
I've had both. Both accomplish the same thing. The BW felt more direct, but the Novak is just as good. I preferred the feel of the Boostwerks but had to go with the Novak.
I also had to go Novak due to other mods. Tried the boostwerks linkage but couldn't get it to work. Yes it is expensive but a cable has a lot more versatility
