SYE install help

Now a question on the rear (used front) shaft length. The slip section of it is extended out about 2-3/4". I can see where it traveled about 1/2" as a front shaft, and I'm about 1/2" beyond the farthest it traveled as a front shaft. Does that sound about right? I've been searching and can't find the posts that had pics of where it ends up sitting. I'm just trying to make sure I have enough travel left in the shaft. I'm sitting at about 4.75" to 5" of lift in the rear end, and was hoping to add a longer shackle in the future and be able to keep the same shaft.

i'm at 6" with a front shaft in the rear (man, that sounds sick!!) and it's fine, you'll be ok.

You're right, that does sound sick...

Anyway, I just finished filling the case. I had picked up 3 qts of ATF not knowing how much it would take. I ended up using 1.5 (including what I spilled on the floor.)

Getting it in there was a little weird. I ended up using the blister pack that one of my new joint straps came in. I cut off one end of it and stuck it in the filler hole, then poured into the end that was sticking out. It worked great! It's clear, so I could keep track of how it was flowing, and it flowed a LOT faster than the funnel I tried to use at first.

I just finished the test drive. I put it through every selection in the Tcase and got it up to 50 mph. It seems like it's running right. I think it might be a little quieter in the rear end, but I'm not sure. I'll know tomorrow. There's a hill on my way home from work that would make my u-joint hit every time. I guess I'll see how it does!

Thanks to everyone who helped out! I'm really glad that I did it myself instead of paying someone else to!

x2 bro! thats what i said, i wish we could have done down here, but man! it feels good when you do it yourself!

Just a little update...

I've been running around with it for about a week now. It's GREAT! My vibrations on accel. and decel. are gone, no more joint hitting the yoke at the Tcase output, and it actually got rid of some of the vibes and shaking that I thought was just my tires! It's a much quieter ride now.

Overall, I wish I had the money to do this sooner!

PORC SYE= $169.99
front d-shaft= $50.00
new joints= ~$22.00
misc. stuff= lost track...

quieter driving and not worrying about the d-shaft= priceless:D

I bought a PORC SYE, just like my previous post and this whole thread has been about.

I don't have a camera at the moment, but if you look around I know there were some other pics of them in the forums somewhere. If you see any pics of the AA kit, it looks exactly the same as that.

Edit: Performance Off Road Center (PORC) if you've never heard of them before...
