sway bar with otk steering

i wasn't running a sway bar before i did the conversion. i haven't driven the rig yet. still doing final details. there is on company that say's you must run a sway bar if you run there kit. all the other sell the new brackets but say nothing that you must.

Extended sway bar brackets are what you need and are sold by several vendors.

Get a set of disconnects, if you do not want to run a sway bar off road.

If your XJ is a DD, do us a favor and either install a front sway bar or keep it off the street. The front sway bar is a necessity for safe street use especially on the freeway.
Have an accident without it, expect the lawyers to tear you up.

What OTK kit are you going to use? I just did a heim steering set up on mine and bought the 2" JKS Sway bar mounts. Of course they didn't work and had to cut and mod them so i didn't have any contact. Could have saved the $ and made my own. But we live and learn. For heim steering these look promising but no pics of them installed. (kinda like most vendors)

I run JCR OTK setup with no swaybars. My springs are stiff enough on their own that I forgot to reconnect it after a day at rausch and a month later the mounts got cut off due to the OTK kit. I had no clue it wasnt connected til I did the install, that said my springs are 4.5 inch RK in the front with Procomp shocks.

If you have soft springs and shocks then disconnect it first and see how it drives then decide what you wana do with it. I sold my JKS discos and made some cash back out of the steering swap.

I run the IRO otk system and i did not cut my mounts

Thats only because they build a tie-rod with bent ends. I built my own for my old WJ knuckle set-up it was a PITA to set the toe-in properly since one end must be removed from the knuckle in order to make any adjustments.....and once the heims loosened up if flopped around like crazy.

Yes its only because they built it with bends in the tie rod.

And it is a PITA to toe it in. Just takes patience, overall i like it though, definitely seems like it will take a beating.

And since my Cherokee was half built in a college parking lot, i tried to order parts that would be easiest to install while still withstanding a good pounding.
