Suspension Work in San Diego

I may have screwed up with my first post. If so, mods should feel free to delete the one in the for sale sub-forum.

I have a 1987 Comanche MJ 4.0L shortbed.

A 4" lift and other suspension mods (Skyjackers, JKS adjustable track rod and LCAs) were done before I bought it.

For a number of reasons, I'd like to have my suspension and steering checked over and possibly adjusted by a specialist.

Any recommendations for San Diego?

Thanks

Search for the correct length of your control arms adjust and tighten properly.

Check your allignment.

Go over all suspension components make sure everything is tight.

Check your tire balance.

I'm sure someone that lives near you can give you a hand. No need to take it to a specialest anyone that has installed a lift before can direct you to what might be going on and how to correct it.

If I check the castor, shouldn't that tell me if my LCAs need to be shimmed?

AFAIK camber is non-adjustable, right?

My steering isn't properly centered; should I reset the steering box, or adjust the tie rod?

I will have the wheels balanced, check the toe-in and check the fasteners.

Your steering is centered by the trac bar. Do you have an adjustable one?

Your caster is adjuested by your control arms

camber is non adjustable

The steering wheel is centered by the drag link.

The axle is centered by the track bar.

Toe-in is adjusted by the tie rod.

My steering wheel is not centered. I have about 1.5 turns in one direction, and 1.0 in the other (is that about right, 2.5 turns lock-to-lock?). Can the drag link handle that much adjustment?

The track bar is adjustable, but I'm not sure how to determine if the axle is centered properly.

Once all that is put right, toe-in and wheel balance should be easy to adjust.

You first step should be to take it to Firestone and buy their lifetime alignment and get it aligned. Also have them check the wheel balance while your there.

I thought of doing something like that, but a friend said I should go somewhere that understands lifts.

set your control arms if not set, an center axle under truck. those are things that most shops wont touch

they will adjust tie rod and drag link.

Firestone, as well as other companies, have done great for me many times.
Alignment shops will set your LCAs as well to fix caster problems if they are adjustable...
The centering of the axle is easy, since you have an adjustable trac, yeah i dont think most places will do that unless asked... (might have to pay more)

EDIT: I saw he does have adjustable LCAs...
