Suspension seats

So I am ready to start shopping for a set of suspension seats. been doing a lil research and it sounds like the best bet is to sit in as many seats as possible to see what works best for ME.

My question is where and how can I do this ? Is there a dealer of some sort locally where I can "try some on" ?

Your best bet would be places that deal with sand cars,if oregon motorsports is still around they had them. I see their web site is still up but I haven't been there in years

So you have never been into the 4wheelparts store off of I205? They have a ton of seats there you can sit in. including mastercrafts, and others. Great place to get a feel for them, I think they have at least 6 different ones or close to it.

Master-Craft would be my vote, we have the Baja RS seats in our YJ and they are awesome. But the base Master-Craft seat works great as well. We had the PRP Jeep Seats in the YJ at first and now they are just chilling waiting for a new project, they were alright but didn't fit Emil as well so we ditched them.

Seats are 100% about how you fit in them. It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks. Find a shop that stocks different models and check them out. As far as the PRP line goes, Those Guys Rod & Customs up here in Bremerton stocks most of their models. I have been very happy with the overall quality of my PRP Daily Drivers. The low sides make them easy to climb in and out of, and they are VERY supportive and comfortable. The one thing you will notice, if you haven't spent much time in one, is that they do NOT feel very cushy or soft. I went from a very plush set of leather ZJ seats in my XJ to the PRP's and I thought they were gonna hurt, but after the first day of wheeling in them, the difference is drastic. The overall amount of support in a good suspension seat is amazing and after a solid day of wheeling, you don't get that sore or tired feeling I did with stock seats. DEFINITELY worth the money!

The one thing you will notice, if you haven't spent much time in one, is that they do NOT feel very cushy or soft. I went from a very plush set of leather ZJ seats in my XJ to the PRP's and I thought they were gonna hurt, but after the first day of wheeling in them, the difference is drastic. The overall amount of support in a good suspension seat is amazing and after a solid day of wheeling, you don't get that sore or tired feeling I did with stock seats. DEFINITELY worth the money!

That is a dead-nuts description of a quality seat. Huge difference between the Corbeau seats I had and stock ones. I can't wait to get into some firm seats again.

Oregon Motorsports is still in business, they do not stock a ton of seating options, or at least they didn't last time I was in there a couple months ago.

I agree with sitting in as many as possible, also, when you purchase the seats get the options you want the first time...there were many morning I wished I had spent the extra coin for the heated seat upgrade in the seats I had in my rail.

The most comfortable ones I've sat in are either Mastercraft or PRP. Twisted Stitch are ok in our YJ, Corbeau's I wasn't crazy about (and the other options are made in the US, Corbeau goes China IIRC)

So, I went out to Oregon Motorsports this morning. Sat in both the Matercraft and the Beard seats they had. They felt very similar, very comfy.

All of the PRPs ive seen have high side bolsters... my fear with those is that sliding in n out will eventually ruin them. Hoping to check out Eric's seats this weekend...

Ive heard mixed reviews on the Corbeau seats... Some love em, some hate em, some like em, but say they wear out quickly...

any other comments ? experience ? suggestions ?

Rod JP magazine just showed up at the house today they have an articel in the back comparing all the seats if you get a chance take a peak.
