Superior Offroad....... Horrible service..?

I bought 2 sets of gears, 2 install kits, and a Dana 30 carrier from the folks out at superior offroad back on monday, June 24th. I was pretty darn happy because he said they should all be in there on Wednesday, two days later. Well upset number one was the fact that they weren't in on Wednesday, they didnt come in Friday, but I had to wait til the next week to get them (I honestly can't remember which day they got into superior). Scheduling issues happened, and I was finally able to pick them yesterday. I picked up two shipping boxes from superior, one large and one small.

I've had great customer service up until this point even though I had to wait as long as I did to get the parts. I brought them home and got side tracked on some other projects. I finally opened the boxes and I had two sets of gears, and a Dana 30 carrier. The gears for my chrystler 8.25 were 3.55's, not the 4.88's that I ordered.

I called superior back and told him what happened, and he was extremely cool about it and had the correct gears air shipped out for me to pick up this morning. I was upset that my gears weren't correct, and so I didn't even realize that the two install kits weren't in my packages. This is the first time I've ever dealt with gears and so it's not like I'm accustomed to all these specific parts.

Anyway, I go out there today and exchange my unopened box of 3.55 Chrysler 8.25 gears for another brown shipping box. When I get home I open it to find the right gears, so I was a happy camper until I realized out of all three boxes, there is no instal kits. I figured before that the instal kits would be in the Yukon gear boxes, that's why I didn't give it too much thought.

I call superior back and tell him that I'm missing two install kits. Long story short he doesn't believe me, and thinks I'm just trying to rip him off.

HERE'S THE KICKER THOUGH: the guy at superior says the boxes weigh 35 pounds, and have all the parts in them because that's what the shipping invoice says. I agree, all the parts I have total up to 35 pounds. BUT I ONLY HAVE 3 PARTS!!!!!! If I did have all 5 parts, and I take them back to him and we weigh them, they wouldn't add up to 35 if I was keeping two instal kits at my house, right?????

So I honestly only got 3 parts, and all the weight adds up. But he thinks I'm ripping him off. He says he'll have the instal kits on Friday, and that he'll bear the cost of them. I'm fine with that part, I'm not okay with him thinking I'm a liar. I'm not trying to steal from him.

Just thought I'd throw this out there and see if anyone else has had experiences like this with him?

If on Friday he sees what I'm saying and that the parts I have add up to 35 pounds, then we'll both be kosher as long as he apologizes for accusing me of stealing, and gives me the instal kits. If he maintains his attitude that he currently has, I'm not sure what's going to happen...

Anyone have any thoughts?

He called me a liar and said that his invoice says they are there. That I'm just trying to get free parts from him basically.

His invoice says that all five parts weigh 35 pounds. I have 3 parts in my garage that weigh 35 pounds. I believe the shipping company messed up on the order.

Good luck to you.

I have nothing bad to say about them because I have never had them do anything for me. But, I have lived in Gresham,Boring,Sandy area my whole life. I have never heard anything good about them ether.

All my gear work was bought and installed by KnA. If you don't have the time to weight, have spec fab do the work. I have personally never had any work done by him. But I can tell just by his posts he knows what he's doing.

You should have me go in there with you. I can intimidate pretty good

so who is installing them? and how much did superior quote you for the install?

You posted before I got done chicken pecking!

They don't do gear work. KnA does there work, or did until he started into retirement. He has been training a replacement I was told.

And most people want the axles out of the rig I prefer to do it in the rig I makes it a lot easier to set the crush collar on the 8.25 and it makes it so you don't have to pull them just drop it off and drive it home no bleeding brakes or reinstalling axles

Does your price change at all if the axles are in or out? I plan on pulling the 30 next sunday or Monday right after I get back from this weekend.

Aaron you're more than welcome to come with me! Mikey is gonna come and keep me under control. I was pretty pissed off last night so we'll see how tomorrow goes.

The only reason I ordered through them is because they were over $100 cheaper than anywhere else. I didn't know KnA ordered gears too, I was under the impression he only worked on them. So that's good to know!

This is my first time doing business with them, I've never really heard anything good about them either... I guess that should have been a warming.

Have spec fab do it!!! Not only are they super handsome members of the nwc, but they are very knowledgeable and do work so good that "Christ-like" would be an insult.
