Sunday's run

Water is dirty
Location
Covington, WA
It's snow, so bring your warm stuff and at least a change of clothes...including shoes/boots. Bring food, too. You never know how long you could be stuck up there. Good example was a couple of weeks ago when Matt and I were up at Evans. Nobody in our party broke, but we got blocked in from the front by broken/stuck Toys...and blocked from behind by a broken FJ. I, for one, will be bringing along TWO Coleman camp stoves and 5 gallons of water, so we'll have hot water and food heating. Bring a can of soup and a pot and I'll let ya use 'em. :) I'm thinking grilled cheese sandwiches, too.

Make sure to have appropriate recovery gear/attachment points, etc. Prefer spare parts in case of breakage and tools to replace these parts. I doubt there will be much in the way of carnage since it's just snow. Just be prepared, at any rate. :)

Bunch of us are bringing kids, so I imagine it goes without saying that the rest of us should set a good example. ;)

That said, I imagine there'll be two groups of us splitting off. One to take the kids up sledding, etc...and one group that wants to push on through the snow to see how high up they can get. I'll be taking my daughter up to sled and introduce her to the fine art of whitewashing. ;)

See you guys Sunday.

How about a headcount? So when we leave the Dutch Cup we don't leave anyone behind.

I will be there.

I appreciate that comment!!

I will be there with 3 kids I believe. My brother will be there in his Jeep also.

Although I am bringing sleds and kids I am hoping to go as far as possible.

Brian and I are still pending.

I might pick up my Jeep tomorrow, still up in the air.

If I drive? Me, Danielle, and two sons. Possibly Brian in a secons rig.

If I don't? Brian and myself

I discovered a broken motor mount this evening while greasing and checking fluids on the Jeep. Guess i shulda dun that yesterday. Oh well.
So, I know that this is an XJ association , but I will be driving my Chevy PU to meet you all in Sultan and at least say hi. Might tag along a little further. I like to keep the Chevy body intact, although it has seen Moab and i have taken it ice-fishing a couple miles out on Lake Superior. It isn't lifted and i have yet to bend the diamond plate steps. So , see you in the AM!!!

My girlfriend just asked me what whitewashing is, so maybe I will need to go up into the snow and show her. She is from Alabama.

This isn't a body munching trip.

This group has forgiven for not having a XJ in the past.

I will be there with wife and boys. Debated bringing our dog, but not enought seat room.

Brian will not make it.

See you in Sultan.

My friend Davis will be Joining us in his lifted Rubicon (He went with us to Evans).

I'm going to get some snooze... I've been gogogogogo since Tuesday night...

I have to leave my house early and run to Arlington to pick two up, then meet everyone at Dutch Cup. We should be okay (Timewise) but I will call if we're delayed. I'm topping off my tank right there in Sultan - EXPECT some traffic, too!

G'night!

Cal, I see RED letters in your name there... we don't care if your jeep doesn't make it (well we do...but... you know!)...The more the merrier!

Show up on your Quad if you wish... Membership has it's privileges :)

Well, I guess I am empty except for my self and my brothers jeep. No kids with me (unless something happens last minute in the morning).

No problem bringing the chevy but how bad is the motor mount? Should not be too big of a problem if you are easy on it. Either way see you in the morning.

Michael

i think that if it was just me I would take the jeep and not worry about it, but i have company today and the engine is resting on the right side exhaust manifold which vibrates the whole vehicle a bit more than usual. The left side mount looks a ready to disenegrate also now that i am paying attention. We are out the door. See ya.

Betting they've got a bonfire going. :D

No bonfire for us. :) We actually did VERY well in the afternoon. We went about a mile and a half beyond where Phil turned around. ;) We got close to the top before we had to turn back. And the snow got alot deeper.

Micheal takes his turn at leading. Just a little plowing going on.

And when I say the snow was inseam deep, I am not exaggerating.

PS we missed you John :kissyou:

WHAT A DAY!!!!

After a morning of Practice Recovery on just about everyone (some more than others). Marc, Hans and I had an incredible afternoon in some very deep fresh snow!! We made it as far as we have made it in past years and turned back to keep it on a good note before it started to get dark. Marc and I both took our turns creating a trail in the fresh snow and both jeeps did very well.

Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!!
Thanks again for everything!!

Michael

Wish I could have kept going, but the family was along for sledding and playing in the snow. :)

Nice pics up top there. I snapped a couple on the way down that turned out pretty well.
