i think I am going to try and fit my 10s unders my front seats. Can it be done? After caging, removing doors, and hatch. I want the sound as close to me as possible. has anyone tried this?

Matt

With my electric seats i cant even fit my hand under there, so even with manual seats i doubt that you could fit 10's under there with enough air space behind them to make them sound at all decent.

No, I highly doubt it. But if you do get them under there, let me know. I just installed 2 10" Pioneers behind my rear seat in a box facing forward, with the amp under the driver seat, and I barely had enough room for the amp under there. You gotta remember, even with non-power seats, there is a bar(the one you pull up on to slide the seat) that teeters like a see-saw(for lack of better description), so when you pull up on the bar, the ends of it go down. Luckily, my amp barely fit between the 2 parts that move. Take a look under the seat, and see what you think.

One thing I might suggest are these subs that come in a little(about the size of an amp) box, and the are pre-amped, meaning you dont need to wire an amp to them. They are a little more expensive but they use a whole new technology in the subs, making them really thin, unlike mine or normal subs that have a huge madget behind them. They are pretty compact and might fit under the seat.

Hope this helped.

take a look around some wranglers and look at there center consol.. In the console the are aloud to hold 8-10 sub (aftermarket) and all you have to do is put an amp under the seat or under the back seat... The stock console will hold a 8 in sub I think

I wont have a NORMAL center console. With my tube dash, comes the tube center console. If I mounted the seats to the cage, do yall think they might fit then? And IF they fit, will they sound good! I just am not sure on where i can fit all the stereo in.

You need to reread this what you just wrote and think, How would we know what YOUR plans are with the seats being tied in, sound and everything you plan in YOUR head, everyone and things have different ideas in there head.... Im not being mean but Think about it

for as much as you are customizing just customize it to fit, plain and simple

Yeah, i understand that. I would like to use the stock mounting if possible. I have been outside looking at the seats without brakets and they just wont fit. Where are some nifty places you guys have seen them put? Maybe i should just ditch the subs. What is killing me is the X brace behind my seat and the idea that i dont want a big ol' box just set in the back.

Anyone ever seen the kick panels done?

Matt

I'm in the middle of fiberglassing two 12's into either side of my trunk. I put my spare on the roof, so I just took out those two pieces of plastic (left and right side of trunk) and built a box out of MDF (yes dothedew 24-7, my lowes does sell MDF and it is in 40 sq.ft. pieces). The next process is going to be fiberglassing it to conform to the sides of the Jeep. I'll post pics on my cardomain website in a few weeks after I have the fiberglass done.

I would love to put the subs in the back, but once the wheel base gets pushed another 6"s, my tires are where the subs are. This is getting to be a head ache. Maybe I will build a vertical box to sit in the X brace. Then I would look cool.

I don't mean to take this thread away from you, but yes I do plan on doing a write-up on my sub boxes that I'm building into the side panels of my Jeep. The write-up will probably be either on here or on cardomain.com. The only reason I would put it on cardomain is because I don't know how to insert pictures here. The boxes that I am building run along the same theme as the sub enclosure in the links above, but with my subs I will have more room around and behind them so I can have a larger sub. I could probably fit 15', but I don't really see the point. Just wait a few weeks and I'll make a write-up for everyone.
