Stupid Drivers! Totalled XJ

My sister just called me and someone just totalled her XJ. She lives in Ft. Worth, TX.
She was at a stop light in the right-hand lane - waiting to go straight.
The person to the left of her decided to make a right hand turn - right in front of her. (It was a landscaper's pickup with a trailer. About 5 guys in it listening to very loud mariachi music)
They drug her vehicle around the corner and into a light pole in the 7-11 parking lot.
She said that the could not hear her honking.
It wasn't until they felt the clunk of a riding mower falling off their trailer that they finally stopped.

Bad Driver!
:twak:

What Yellow sez...hope she's OK and gets a great settlement for her losses.

One less XJ out there too :(

I'd like to believe I'd have grabbed 4 Low and put up a struggle (drive over the trailer AND the equipment) but sometimes stuff like that happens too fast to take proper action.

According to the ins. co. it's "totalled," but all that it really needs is a new front bumper, quater pannel, mirror, and paint.
Her father-in-law owns an auto body shop, so actually, she'll come out ahead.

They should yank the radio out of those guys truck though! Had it up too darn loud.

Radio be damned -- they should yank the driver out. The loud radio explains not hearing the horn (it's probably a violation to have it too loud to hear a horn anyway), but the decibel level doesn't explain or excuse making a right turn out of the center or left lane, or cutting the turn so tight that you take out a vehicle stopped in a legitimate traffic lane without even knowing you hit something.

That sounds more to me like operating under the influence ... of something. Probably peyote.
