stupid carwash ripped the crome trim off my gutters today

I figured it would be bent to hell anyway so kept on my way but it still irritates me.

So it wasn't a tree after all that claimed mine! Never thought it'd been wheel'd before me! Yeah, I'd complain if it were your Jeep,and I had a reason like paying for it!

wasn't their fault, it had been loose and I forgot about it. Unfortunately it was loose in front and the cloth thing came by and hooked into it.

Probably scratched the hell out of someone's car if it got hung up in that wiper thing.

Automatic wash=EVIL

My wife and one of her g/f were in one that blew the passenger window in with high pressure water. They were pretty fortunate in that her g/f was wearing a hoodie and talking to my wife when the window next to her shattered. That was our LAST automatic car wash for all time.

The oil co that owned the service station denied all liability, even mentioned the warning sign at the entrance. Yeah, the sign with tiny print at the bottom.

I get tired of the crud rubbing off on my new leather jacket when I get in and out.

I also got grease all over it doing the lift from pulling myself up with the jeep or opening doors with greasy gloves.

so anyway I wash it like every year or so

Is this off the jeep then no. Just come up with a cool story of mall crawling and how you lost it that way. I get asked what happend to my front fenders from time to time, and I tell people I got hung up on some shopping carts, and they ripped right off. If it's the GTO then yes.

I wont use those automatic carwashes either.About 12 years ago I pulled into one with my '70 Chevelle and had a bad experience.It was one of the older style ones that had the rolling brushes in it.I'm sitting there letting the machine do its work when all of a sudden I start hearing a loud Ka-Bam,Ka-Bam,Ka-Bam on the roof of my car.I immediately drove out of the bay and examined the damage- Soft top was shredded, paint on the hood and trunk were scarred up, and the wind shield trim was beat to hell.All the damage was in an area that formed a nice swath right down the center of the car.I went inside and got the attendant (this was at a Diamond Shamrock station by the way) and we headed to the bay to see what caused the damage.It turns out that on the center brush, the one that rolls up the hood and over the roof, had a CB whip antenna spring base and co-ax cable tangled up in it creating a large "flail" that beat the crap out of my car.Diamond Shamrock paid for the damage and since that day I will not use an automatic carwash.
