Re: Stump's Wrenchfest party

Ok, we could do as much as possible...

On the tranny cooler, you could just go to napa and get one of their large universal coolers. They are only about 40 bucks, and are dead easy to install. Not sure what you had in mind. They come with everything you need. I have one on mine.

I can tell you that most of that stuff is MUCH easier when the vehicle is on a lift... :D

Been thinking about this mod myself. Would love to take a peak at your setup.
Right now my XJ has a 6.5" lift. Planning to drop down to 4.5" and run 31"s instead of the 33"s.

Don't joke about that....I'm WAY behind on the Pinewood Derby cars, and I've only got this weekend before our race... Maybe I should bring that along too??

don't get me goin' about the pinewood derby-- three den firsts and two pack firsts in two years-- I'm "Mr. Pinewood Derby"

My brother and I took first and second (first in both dens and a 1-2 run-off in the pack finals) when I built them for us (early eighties) and a co-worker of mine asked me to be "surrogate father" for her son in the late nineties and we took pack first then.

I love pinewood derby!!

I always thought it was funny when the dads would build the cars to look super fancy, the kids had nothing to do with it, and the car was slow as hell. The ugly cars usually won. lol

My 8 yr old has done 80-90% of the work on his the past two years, and it was obvious! The first year was ugly but had more style, and beat no one. The second year he decided on prioritizing performance, wasn't so ugly, and beat a couple people. The second year, I made one with my 5 yr old daughter. Main Goal: Beat Big Brother..... and we did! :jester:

I wish I had a picture of it but when I was little and made one my dad helped me and made one of his own. His priority was to make it look like his 93 F-150 with a red light bar on top and a working tail gate... lol

He did it. He made the standard block of wood the bottom half of the truck and cut down a 2x4 for the top half of the cab. Routed out the bed portion and made a hinge for the tail gate.

It was slow as Christmas but it was the most unique one there.

Can we get a roll call? Id like to know how many folks will be here on Saturday... Just copy and paste to add your name.

...should I bring my xj? If I do, I must swap a radiator before I leave, steering brace is optional.

Maybe we should add if we are helping out, or bringing work to do?

I'm also game for headliner, but have no supplies. Did our professional fall through??
