Stroker + stock drive train?

Yeah, add more trans cooler. Heat will kill any trans.

Where is your sending unit?

have a trans cooler, trucool type, 12x12x1/2" plenty big, sending unit is on the in side to the tranny cooler,
I have had it get hot enough to overflow the fluid out of the tranny vent tube,
I also change the fluid every 5k or so and after every long/hard trip.

Slight hijack...
I'll probably be in the stroker shopping camp w/in the next 6 months or so. I have a '91 w/ the 242 and D35 w/ 166k on the clock. I feel confident on all of the drivetrain components holding up, but am unsure what to do for the motor itself. Never done anything as major as building an engine, so I'll either have a shop do it or buy one (although I think it'd be fun to build one). Anyone have any experience w/ this company? It'd be super convienent for me b/c they're only about 1.5hrs. away.

Man, if I lived 90 minutes from Titan, I would have been all over their stroker. My stroker cost about $1700 when all said and done, so I would gladly spend another $400 for a 3 year/36K warranty. Only problem for me is the engine would have to be shipped from WI back to FL if I had any problems with the engine. I haven't heard anything bad about Titan, so definitely go with their engine.

4.7L stroker + heavy crank + stick shift + 35's + D30 front = multiple broken axle shafts 10 minutes apart on one trail on the same vehicle. These were almost non obstacles on Metal Masher at Moab.

Same with me old man.

4.7L stroker + light crank + 4.56 gears + stick shift + 35's + D30 front = I'm eating up my spare shafts like candy.

I changed over to an auto and the problems stopped. I'm now running a HP44.
