sorry to see your piston get detonated to death like that. i hope MS and a good tune / some dyno time will keep that from happening again. i ate up one of my bmw engines due to some det. slowly burnt thru a piston with a semi clogged injector under boost car ran fine till it just blew oil out of every port it could.
curious tho. what kind of numbers do Stokers put down over stock? i had decided not to build my 4.0 because of the side drafting head design. non the less these engines take a great deal of abuse before they fail quit. cant hate on that
There's only so much I can do if everything checks out it goes back together. MS may not prevent certain problems but it makes me feel better having something specifically built for my engine. I never liked tweaking sensors and fuel pressure hoping it works right under all conditions.
I'm planning on building a Megasquirt-III w/the MS3x expansion board for my next project...fully sequential ignition & fuel delivery. Should be a fun time.
MegaSquirt II on MS2/Extra firmware and possibly linking a GPIO board running MegaShift for the transmission. The board is already built and I did most of my research before MegaSquirt III came out so I don't know as much about it. This is all in the future I'll make a detailed post when it's time. Right now my focus it getting the engine back together.
