Stripping a carcass

Boy I tell ya what, I forgot there is an MJ sittin here on Mare Island with a traffic cone on the hood. Been here for at least a few weeks. Its nearly identical to your old torch. I'll get a pic on my way out this afternoon. It even has a little lift on it :D

Good eye Jason. :wierd: We help each other around these parts. :-)

I know of a 2 door for sale here in Modesto for about $1,000-1,5000 for it and she wants to sell fast. See my other post about mine, it may take a new home or not depending.

You may be able to come to my wharehouse, it has air and power and all the stuff you would need. We are still doing some framing and electrical work so it is a little cramped right now but maybe for a couple of weeks or at least a weekend would be fine.

I missed a long bed MJ here a couple of weeks ago for just $1k needed work but it wasnt bad.

What year is the 2 door for sale? Is it a 91' or later with the HO 4.0L? It's easier to find an early cherokee 2 door than a 91+ with 2 doors. Chrysler just didn't make a whole lot of them compared to the 4 door.

BACK OFF! MY JEEP! :twak:

Just giving you trouble Troy. I'm about to PM Rob.

Dude, I know I'm looking out for you. You want to try to get the 91+ with the HO motor if you can. I want to see you in another jeep soon, I fell bad for you. That night sucked. I don't need another jeep.

It is an 88', there is a 97' 2 door at the auction yard hee in Salida going for sale next Sat. Looks good, oh sorry it is a 2x4 but can be swapped easily.

Ok, may have a place to strip this thing at. I'd rather pay a Jeeper to tow my truck, instead of some tow truck driver, so bump for a tow rig and trailer. Maybe bump for a place to work at.

Damn, I called Waste Management about a dumpster. I was thinking that I could roll the truck into the dumpster, strip it, then have them haul it away. But they said no engines. Should I just pull what's left of the engine - just cut any connections that are left - and get a dumpster anyhow? Should I just dumpster the engine anyway, all the oil may have burned? Should I just trailer it back to a junkyard after I strip it?

Dammit, this whole fire thing sucks!

I just dumpster it anyways. It's not like it's that full of fluid anymore. I'd just leave it in the engine bay and slam the hood down and put it in the dumpster. With the hood down and closed or straped down it should conceal the engine enough to pass it off to them. I wish I could let you tear it apart at my place but my neighbors wouldn't take to kindly to that and my xj is still in my garage with my wrangler besides it. I wish I could keep both of these mean machines, but the wrangler gots to go, I hope to see it on the con and be used not abused. I know some of our rural folks in the club would have some room if you made arrangements to get a flat bed or trailer and be ready to haul the carcass away so it doesn't stay on their property for long especially after you strip out the axles, that thing will really be a carcass after you strip the susp, wheels/tires, and axles off of it. Just a pile of bones after the vulchers are done devouring it up. ;)

The main point of the dumpster would be so that as soon as I'm done with it, I call them to haul it away. Whoever let me work there, would know that I didn't have to arrange a trailer, just get the dumpster hauled away. And it would be a nice little semi-enclosed work area for the weekend. Just let the peices fall where they will.
