Maybe put up a full list of parts needed? I might have some random speakers if they stole those? I could build you some sliders if you wanted to buy the steel and bring the rig over here one weekend. last couple sets of sliders were about 40$ or so 2x2 .120 wall square and I have enough stuff for the frame and pinch seam and legs and stuff. the ones I built for my dads 3rd gen 4runner look super sweet.

I'll take a good look over tomorrow and get a list going. It didn't get here til after sundown and I can get a better look in the morning. Right now I'm kinda at a loss for words at the help you guys are offering. Really, thank you all!

So looks like I'm replacing

Tires/rims
Seats
Most likely steering column
Battery
Bumper (already had a spare so this is done)
Wing glass
Shifter nob
Stereo/speakers
Lower part of dash
Sliders

The bottom right is the damage from my accident last month. Probably just pull it straight enough to well unibody plates and call it good enough. Just might have to roll with out a bumper until I can do that with a friends help in Sacramento

the tie rod should be fine. I ran mine with a good bend(currie steering like yours) for years, So did mike1331 as well. They definitely hit something with it

Damn man thats rough..Glad you're keeping it! I hit pick n pull today. A TON of cherokees at san jose north. Like 10 .. lemme know if you need something I could get you small stuff shipped like the window speakers stereo maybe a steering wheel.

Just saw this thread and man this sucks. Glad you got it back, or what's left of it anyway. I have a spare rear bench (seat and back) but its from a '97+ and you might not need that anyway. But its free if you want it.

A good theft deterrent is a hidden fuel pump kill switch.

Starting to price some stuff out and prepare myself. Luckily my brother in law has tools I can use until I get a chance to go to my storage and see what is in there. Most of my jeep ones were in the back as I had been working on stuff recently. Think I have plenty to make another set.

Anyone know off hand if the automatic steering column works in a manual? I can't seem to find that out.

John- I'll run it for now and see how it goes since you've had success. Luckily I have a spare stock set of steering outback if it goes sour.

831_xj : thanks for the offer, if I come across stuff I can't get local I'll send you a message and work it out.

Think I'm going to buy a steering column collar and wire up a hidden switch using a magnetic switch. And maybe keep a trained lion inside for backup.

I didn't mention, my front seats are power seats with brackets. I don't think they are torn, but they have been in my jeep getting wheeled without doors so they definately need a good cleaning.

Ya, Sierra Chapter is amazing. Everyone here has been helpful not only to me, but when ever anyone has a problem people help however they can. And it's awesome that people like that still exist. Again, thank you everyone!

Looks like the biggest hurdle is going to be locating a steering column for a manual. Just going to have to get lucky at pick n pull or ebay. Going to head to the modesto one Wednesday and if no luck, head to stockton. Should be moving again soon!

I have 2 6x9s you can have if you still need stereo stuff. My GFs parents live off 8 mile so I can meet ya next time I'm down there.

and I've seen Mike1331 run a "U" shaped currie steering before , and drove on it for years, so you are good there.

That'd be cool, but no hurry on tunes. I just want to be able to drive to work or head out camping. I'm not worried about the steering too much. Will probably need to adjust toe though. Currie is really beefy looking and worse comes to worse, I just buy a new tie rod portion eventually.

Don't buy a new tie rod. its solid chromolly. its good for the long haul a slight bend is just more clearance for the rocks(I'm joking, but not really) just adjust toe out(its probably toed in like 1/2" or more. cool. Ill see if I still have some old school decks around or some 6.5s for the front doors too.
