Stock steering damper removal, the easy way!

I beat mine out with a fork and a 3lb sledge. Major PITA!


My only regret is that I didn't do it earlier. Not sure about other years but that linkage was in the absolute perfect position to make pan removal as difficult as possible when I went to replace my rear main seal. I had resigned myself to leaving it permanently after fighting with it for a couple of hours during the RMS change. I finally worked around it by lowering the back of the transmission to get clearance. Much later, my steering felt so loose that it started to feel dangerous so I pulled out the sledge and the fork....
