Yes, I used single cardan joints at both ends of the shaft on my '97... it is important to get the pinion angle correct. It worked fine at 5.5" of lift running 32's on a locked D35 w/ 3.73 gears. I had enough traction to get my rig into places where I didn't have enough ground clearance, so I high centered alot, even scraping my rear driveshaft sometimes with no driveline failure. When I jumped up to 8" & 35's with a spooled 4.56 D44, I replaced the setup with a AA SYE and Tom Woods CV shaft as a preventive measure. But I installed the same setup on my buddy's '96 w/ 33's on an otherwise stock 3.07 geared 8.25 rear.
