Stock slip yolk converted to SYE???

Yes, I used single cardan joints at both ends of the shaft on my '97... it is important to get the pinion angle correct. It worked fine at 5.5" of lift running 32's on a locked D35 w/ 3.73 gears. I had enough traction to get my rig into places where I didn't have enough ground clearance, so I high centered alot, even scraping my rear driveshaft sometimes with no driveline failure. When I jumped up to 8" & 35's with a spooled 4.56 D44, I replaced the setup with a AA SYE and Tom Woods CV shaft as a preventive measure. But I installed the same setup on my buddy's '96 w/ 33's on an otherwise stock 3.07 geared 8.25 rear.

my plan is to use my front spare shaft as a rear shaft. They are the exact same length currently.
DIG IT!

So in that pic is that a Slip yoke from a 231 on a Blazer? you could turn that into a SYE Really easy. I Need to check that out.

Tommy
The part that I used for my driveshaft came from Inland Empire. It was made for the Jeep. I ran it on my 242. They have an 800 number. Give them a call tomorrow. Ask them about a slip yoke for the 231/242 transfer case that takes a 1310 u-joint.
Dan.

Cost me 90 bucks for my pre 96 SYE. I got it off ebay. If you just look in the right places you can find these things cheap. I would leave the driveline things to the pros. My .02
