Sorry about that assumption. It wasn't obvious from the posts that you had plenty of mechanical experience.
I can certainly relate to being on a budget as I opted to swap in a free AW4 auto when my AX15 died instead of rebuilding it again (pilot bearing went and torn up input shaft and input bearing). Quite a few runs to the local pull-n-save yard and lots of little misc issues.
I was guessing it was a D35 since that was standard for 1995 and the 8-1/4 was somewhat harder to find and only in non-abs setups. You might want to double check on the 30RH being hydraulic only. According to the 1995 FSM, the converter clutch on the 30RH is a solenoid operated by the power train control module.
