First I have a 89 Cherokee Laredo AW4 NP231 4.0 4.5 R/C AAL adjustable track bar dana 30 and 35 3.55 gears. I've replace all the tre went with cross over steering, all ball joints have been replaced, and i just got it back from having the alignment done. This has been going on since i bought the xj 2 years ago. Ive also changed wheels and tires. The alignment was so bad i was eating tires(Im on my third set). Only thing that i havent changed is the rotors, upper control arm bushings, and the front axle. Would those three cause the wobble or would just one of them Im really tired of throwing parts and this jeep. When i hit 54 mph the whole front end shakes (death wobble).
Dose anybody have any suggestions? My next route is to change the rotors and bushings. Thanks

Check your u joints in the front on the axle. Ive seen a bad set do that.

If you turn real sharp does it feel like the front shimmies over? If so...its bad u joints

Do a search for Death Wobble, there cant be less than a few thousand threads on it!

Couple of questions...
When it shakes, how slow, exactly, do you need to go to make it stop?
Can you post the alignment numbers?

I will post numbers tomorrow. I have to get back down to 30 -40 mph to get it to stopand as aoon as i get started back up 55mph starts again. you cant even hit the brakes and you cant control the steering. keep it below 55 its ok the faster you go and the closer you get to 55 the worse it gets.

I think i found the problem my tarck bar is f@#* up. Im going to order a new one that dosent have a TRE on it. Do you think that a loose track bar will cause it?
It seems that it would because the body moves before the wheels do.

my problem was a combination of a loose/bad track bar and toe out a half inch... got it toed in, went to a double shear track bar (roughcountry), made sure everything was torqued to spec, and that seemed to keep it at bay.

Quick question. I have the older style adj track bar from RC. Im having trouble getting the TRE to go all the way up in to the bracket. It almost like the hole needs to be bigger has any one done this or had this problem. Is it ok to make the whole bigger?
