If all goes well in the next week, I will have a 4.6L stroker and new tranny going in.

I have searched all odds and ends on what to upgrade, cooling system, etc etc.

I do have one question I couldn't find the answer to.

Will I have to upgrade the starter to turn over a 4.6L? If so, to what? Mean Green?

Thanks!

Stock is just fine!

I ran my 89 stroker with the stock starter for several months and it started just fine. I had a chance to buy a new 2000 MOPAR starter at a bargain so I replaced my 14 year old one rather than wait till my old one quit (probably 100 miles up in the Maine woods)

The stock starter should work just fine unlis your stroker has really high compression or the starter is really old and about to die anyways.

Well I was told by Ben that the stroker Andy is about to sell me, has a 10:1 compression ratio.

So can I get some more confirmation on this please?

Thanks.

I have had no troubles turning my 4.6 over with a stock starter for over 26K miles.

Before I would shell out $$$ for a mean green starter, I would install the stock one and see how it turns your motor over. If it won't spin it well then upgrade.
