sometimes I hate the crime in sacramento

So someone broke into my Garage tonight. Stole all of my trail tools. For most folks their trail tool box would suck and it does. the issue is , that my trail box was easily 500$ worth of crap, it went from a pathetic trail box to a full box full of everything one would need to fix anything on an XJ and then some.

D44 spindle nut sockets. 36 mm sockets. ratcheting wrenches. deep and shallow metric and standard and impact. torque wrench. multi meter. welding rod. multiple 3/8 and 1/2 drives. pitman arm pullers. tie rod pullers. pickle fork. sledge hammer. regular wrenches. hex and torx drives in half and 3/8s. tons of extensions. hammers. hacksaw and blades. locking pliers. pliers. super long needle nose. universals. tons of super large sockets and wrenches for all the crazy 3/4" grade 8 hardware on my rig too. Tons of screw drivers, super short, super long, and regular lengths.

Man this pisses me off. I think I am going to move out of downtown.

If they would have hit the main garage with the snap on roll arounds full of tools or my welding crap and all my other stuff and other stuff I cant imagine it.

That ****ing blows dude.

Shit my trail box has over 1000 in axle shafts alone. And they are not replaceable. I'd be pissed

Thank god they are too stupid to steal the drill presses, chop saws, air compressors, etc that were right next to it. Luckliy I had the axle shafts and steering and driveshafts in the other garage. they must have been on a bike with a little trailer thingy(i see alot of homeless with kids carriers full of crap a lot) or a shopping cart, the boxes they stole were pretty heavy, too heavyt o carry on foot, but with all that they left behind, no way they were in a vehicle or else I would have been cleaned out.

plus there are some 36 iroks on nice beadlocks, tons of really nice coleman coolers and camping gear like that, and more random crap.

More than likely a homeless junky with a cart or a bike with a trailer. I would like to find them. Introduce their knees to my crow bar . No one would miss a homeless meth/heroin addict that robs honest people and breaks into houses and garages. we have at least one break in a month on our block, sometimes way more. this is my first one in 8 years at our house though. Im usually on top of things.

Its the kind of crap that makes me want to go vigilante and just taking out the scum of the earth.

My garage got hit once and I have since made myself the worst possible target. Alarm system, cameras and dvr system, 2 pit bulls, gun safe right next to my side of the bed, open when I'm home with loaded .45, 9mm, and 12ga, and disc type pad locks on all gates. If you still manage to get in, it will probably be the last thing you ever do. We work way too hard for what we have to let people take it. I hate thieves.

That sucks to hear John. I feel your pain. My work/programming computer was stolen from my van a few weeks ago. Almost ten years of information gone. Irreplaceable. It's an unfortunate world we live in. I hope you get it back together without to much trouble and it doesn't happen again.

I know moving is a hard decision sometimes. That alley behind your garage is a prime target spot. And now someone has had a good look inside and seen your stuff. Just something to think about.

Good luck buddy

Really sorry to hear this John.

Perhaps they were just taking cues from the high profile thieves that steal from the rest of the state on a continuing basis.

I might be able to scrounge together a set of sockets out of my loose extras, let me know

x2, I have quite a few loose ones that I could throw in a box with souske's.

That sucks John, I'm sorry to hear that.

I know Sears is still running the special on the 20pc Gear Wrench ratcheting set for like $50.

I'll see if I've got some spares laying around that I can get up your way.

Sorry to hear about that Jon. I hate low life's like that.

Lame.

Dont worry about boxing up sockets or anything. Luckily they didnt get into my other garage with my XJ and giant SNAP ON roll arounds full of all my garage tools (way better stuff than the trail box) . The plan for now is the old plan: use a spare tool box and load and unload everything I need for each run into it from the snap on roll arounds. sucks and adds time, but im in no hurry at the moment to fork out another 725$+ (started an excel file tracking out what I remember was in there and pricing it) and Its my own fault for choosing to live in downtown. Gone 8+ years with no Garage issues. I didnt even realize I had that much money into the trail box until now.

Already have fake cameras all around, very bright flood lights, and pad locks on the gates and the garage door on both sides onthe side tracks (only in the garage for my jeep, not the second one) padlocks on garage door suck when you hit the clicker and forgot to remove them. I do that from time to time. I also grabbed more dog ear fence boards and started raising the fence line 2 feet. Also put up beware of dog signs every where as well.

That sucks man. I hate that area. I know a lot of people that work down there and I don't even understand how they do it. The last time I was down there I was buying that spare tire from you and this black dude on a bike was riding in the middle of the street in front of me and he threw his drink in the air and it landed right in front of my car and he just kept riding in the middle of the street. If I was in my jeep I would have ran him over. There's so many worthless people. And there's also a lot of good people like you just trying to make a living and not start problems. Unfortunately the worthless people target good people.

I've got many spares too man. I need to go through my tools and get rid of some triplicates to make what I am keeping easier to find. I might even have two 36mm sockets.
