Social Networking?!?!

Does the MWC have a Facebook page or something similar? I saw a few other chapters had one so I thought I would ask.
I feel like we could all get to know each other a little better if we had one... Especially us noobs (like myself) who havnt had a chance to meet in real life.
I would be more than willing to set one up, but considering I am not technically a member, that should probably left to someone else.
 
I dunno if there is one... but I just made one... I'll work on it over the next week or so...

I get your point, but I am never going to know what you look like, what you do for fun etc from the forums.
Naxja is great for sharing info but it is rather impersonal.
If you have a facebook, join if you want to. I wouldnt mind getting to know some of you guys a little better than what a screen name and an avatar can tell me.

Forums are a great place to meet people, but you have to make the decission to get to know someone. That means having a real life social interaction after the initial meeting on the Forum. Some do trail rides, some do burgers, some do drinks, and some just hang out in each others garages. When I was out in CA a couple years back, I didn't need Facebook to find a fellow member to hang out with, I just posted up. A few of us got together at a Hotdog stand after work. It was as simple as that, and I met some nice folks.

If I am not mistaken, setting up a NAXJA related site outside of this Forum needs to be passed though the BOD. I would think that the BOD would worry about the Club's rep if a third party is using the Club name and it all goes south.

As I take it.... "Different strokes for different folks".... For some, FB is more preferable than a regular forum...
As for Club's Rep, I made it, and everything I used about the description has come from this site and the MWC site. If the BOD doesn't like it, they will contact me, and I will get rid of it... As of right now, it is open for anyone to join, but I could also restrict that if the BOD asks. Simple as that.

I don't see what the big deal is but If the BOD doesn't want it to happen its ok with me.

XJ Tess already pointed out the OTHER naxja based group on facebook. I dont see how this is any different?

15 people have joined in about a day. I dont see the harm...
 
I was just looking to get to know people who share my interest in Jeeps and who I will be seeing in a few months at WF. If the BOD feels this group is in some way harmful to NAXJAs reputation, then I would have no problem with its removal.
Just remember the point of this group was not to create some sort of splinter group of the MWC, it was an extension of the people and events that are already planned.
