I feel like I'm taking freaking crazy pills, this whole thing is ridiculous.

will be a long story, sorry.
here I am, sitting at work, this dude goes home and calls me, he's like "do you want another dog?" and I'm like, not rly but why and he tells me he almost clipped a dog with his car leaving the lot.... and then leaves it there
mad.gif

since we're in a terribly unsafe area I roll down there looking for the poor thing before it gets hit or something and see it right by a busy 4 lane road, pull up and whistle, and she jumps right in the car. Turns out she's absolutely mangy, bloody, torn up, and covered in mites...

so I take her to the office and she meets some people and turns out is cool as hell, so we decide we didn't want her to go to the pound so we'll try to find the owners and get her some vet care.

I take her to a immediate vet care place and they scan her chip, turns out no one spent the $10 or whatever it costs to activate it, I wait an hour and a half and don't get in, so I remember my normal vet has 24hr staffing, so I drive down there, walk in and explain I found this dog and want to get her checked out so I can take care of her and find the owner. This bitch physically rips the leash out of my hand and takes the dog in back, comes back and I'm like "I'm not dumping her off, I'm going to PAY for the services and I'll let her chill with me while I look for the owner (by this time I've called an ad into the paper and put an ad on craigslist)
she tells me she can't give me the dog back for 7 days after they try to find the owner... I'm a little pissed but hey whatever. She promises that she'll take my info, in 7 days they'll call and I can come get her.. Cool. She promises 3 times that the dog won't go to the pound.

we call every evening to see how her health is, 3 days later we come by to walk her and play a little so she isn't stressed frm being alone in a kennel 24/7 with annoying barking dogs.

I get home and an hour later they call me and they're like "oh sry, we scanned the chip and it wasn't activated, but we traced it to the breeder then to the first owner and they gave the dog away to someone but didn't know who so we took her to the pound, best of luck!!!"

WTF? I find a dog, try to take responsibility for finding the owner and caring for the dog, and they act like I'm crazy?

So, uh, all this was free of charge?

Just what breed is this dog? Is it intact?

I wouldn't be surprised if the vetrinary place has some chain of custody protocol for legal reasons.

Being a dog person, and an asshole, I'm not too impressed with the previuos owner. Fawk-em! The dog would probably be better off in another home. Just my .02

Wow! I would be just as angry as you are! That is some bull s@%t. Are you going to try and go to the pound and get her back?

she's a sporting breed, not very old, but way too young to be running loose in this hot, dry weather, with no water source and covered in raw, bleeding skin. I think she's intact but haven't gotten close enough to check, she's pretty nasty for the time being so belly scratches are out, lol

already did but it's the old "come back in 10 days and we'll put out a memo and hopefully you can adopt her" deal.
For me, if I ever actually see the dog again it's a great deal, she'll get her vaccines, she'll get spayed, and cleaned up, and I won't have to pay for it. For her it's a binch of stress she doesn't need.
and I seriously doubt I'll ever see her again.

=[ I hope all goes well. I really hope you get her back.

I do too, she's a really great pooch and deserves a lot better.
she's a spitting image of my vizsla and they'd be great running and swimming and fetching together.

Crazy or psycho, but dood...... They saw you coming a mile away...... you're all over the internet these days....... do you really blame them for not wanting the poor dog to live in this kind of environment?........

My thoughts are not far from yours noob93.

What I am getting at is that I have had one dog lost. He had his shots, which gave him an identifier, and a phone call to me within 3 days of losing him. We were never seperated since. All my dogs know where home is, and want to be there with me...and the supper dish.

well sometimes they just feel like wandering, but I really get the idea this dog was just straight up dumped. She's not even a year old and the person that bought her gave her away to someone else and "doesn't know who"? I think "someone else" means "the side of the road" unfortunately.
my pup is chipped, activated, and the info is current. And if she was missing I'd be pounding the pavement, the post, craigslist, posting signs etc until I found her and no one has called or emailed with a match on the mutt I found, yet anyway.

I don't even like walking my dog near busy roads for fear she'll slip the collar and get run over. :(
but don't listen to me, I'm just the crazy guy trying to steal some innocent dog owner's dog, apparently.

To be completely honest, I kind of hope the owner(if thats what you can call them) doesnt claim the dog, so you can have her Phil. I think you would definetly be a better home for her.

well, we'd sure like to have her, I guess we'll see.
I wasn't really ready for another dog but she is just too cool and absolutely loves everybody she meets.

I didn't mention, we work opposite shifts so someone is home with the dogs 24/7 too. hehe.

LMAO! Apparently so! Maybe you should live up to the perception and show up at the pound with your paperwork form the vet's, demanding the return of your pet!!! Should be pretty clear that you had posession and $$$ invested.

The sicko man who takes care of animals...what's our frackin society coming to???

Will the vet not tell you which pound they gave it to? That part I don't get why they wouldn't do that?

Some dogs good or bad well trained or dumb as a stump can and will wonder for many reasons.
Found a female in heat and he wants’ to get lucky like no other. The owner is a tool and lack of food or water will make them Roam or HUNT for food. They are still an animal at that still and need a good owner.

I hope you find the dog and can adopt her.
