I'm a metal-head but I can't stand the concert aspect. Too many idiots...... I'm surrounded by them all day at work, I don't care to rub elbows with 'em and share their doobies second-hand.........

I like it all - Metallica, Rob Zombie, Mushroomhead, Dope, Disturbed, Union Underground, Soil, Drowning Pool, Static X, etc.......

i really love traditional hardcore. bad brains, black flag, d.r.i, cro mags etc. thats my roots. but i also love some 90's hardcore, biohazard, sick of it all, old helmet and clutch....etc.

my favorite bands are the new stuff tho, hatebreed, first blood, terror, death before dishonor, the acacia strain, integrity, blood stands still......all great bands.

as far as metal goes, i think the 2 most incredible up and coming bands are WHITECHAPEL and AUGUST BURNS RED

i went to ozzfest a few years ago.... for free =]
i saw, black sabbath, hatebreed, static-x and lamb of god. slipknot was supposed to play but didnt and lamb of god filled in...much better lol. i was in the pit for static x BS and lamb of god. when their song rdneck started, the double bass felt like a jackhammer on my chest. show was awesome, i even went crowd surfing =]. i was about 20 ft away from the giant amps...AMAZING!!

I listened to it up to a year and half ago. When my oldest started walking around singing let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor. I decided it was a time for a change. I have not even heard the new Nickelback album or any of there new songs. All these bands sound like a foreign language to me. My boss likes to listen to it and he is 47 years old. We work for millionaires all the time so I will not let him listen to it. LOL
His wife is always riding him cause he lets his kids 9 and 7 listen to Rock. But he also likes Bruce too.uke:

I listen to anything other than country, depends on my mood, but I have a little old skool in me with Metallica (before BLack, death magnetic is actually pretty good but his voice.) I could make a list of all my old and new favs.


Get a Sirius radio man, 4 channels, Boneyard, Liquid metal, Octane, and hair nation! Old, new, HARD, and in between! :gee:

I've been called a metal head, but I'm not angry enough to listen to the list Raptor posted, plus I'm not a big fan of "cookie monster" vocals (think about it, you'll know what I mean) -- being a teenager in the 80's, my tastes are more classic metal, and no, I don't do glam.:dunce: I did see that Anthrax is going to be at World Arena shortly, but I don't think I could handle looking at the weirdos in Slipknot (music OK, appearance :gee -- I'm feeling a bit old for the serious headbanging concert scene. My last few shows have been more classic rock stuff - Tesla, Hagar... :clap: I do have to say though, that as newer metal goes, I think Avenged Sevenfold is bad ass.
