So Cal desert rats

Hey guys, i have a ? ....

What do you think my ticket is going to cost? I was only doing 75 in a 55!!!!!!!! I was wearing my seat belt and my phone was in the house..LOL..I know now that my speed-o is off by 5 MPH, it said i was doing 80...I told the man i haven't driven it i was just cleaning it out..He didn't think it was funny..

I got the motor mounts in, today. Didn't even scratch the paint putting them in. :) As I expected, I do feel more vibration from the engine compartment. But it is nice and solid.:party:Thanks, JeeperJohn.

It'll be cheaper by far than whatever they charge my 17yo daughter for, for going 105 in a 70 zone... Worst part is it was a total accident; she's not a screaming speeder. She'll go with the flow on the freeway, up to 70 or 75, maybe 80... and her car has a wobble in it at about 65, and cruise control. She was driving my aligned Mitsu Mirage (yeah, 1.5L automatic!) up to SoCalFest, and went up a hill & didn't let off the gas on the downhill because she was trying to figure out if she'd passed the 15/215 split yet. D'oh!!!

I hope for mercy for her and for you, Scott!

:laugh2: There goes that BITCH'N MPG you thought you were getting  :D

Too bad about the ticket...

On-line traffic school.

Though I must say, I had a pretty good time doing the all day traffic school, back in the 90's. My timing was perfect, and I think Everyone else in the class was stoned. (too)

Changed the upper radiator hose, got rid of that trap. It was restricting the coolant flow. It was HOT here, I drove around all over the place. It got a little over 210. I hope to Rot out the system on Thursday.

Well got my bike going... First day out it broke down going up to 74 had to get it towed home. Now I got everything taken apart, but I don't know yit about workin on bikes! Where could I find out what needs to be done for a 20k mile maintance? I'm gonna be changing the plugs/coils/air filter/fuel pressure regulator/oil. I got gas in my oil some how and it was smoking like a B. before it died on us in palm desert... My jeep parts money is now bike money cause parts for this thing are pricey!!! :(

bike is a 2002 Honda CBR F4i 600.

STOP..........................
Before you SPEND anything..Test for compression first...Then change the plugs and clean your air filter..
THEN if this doesn't fix it, call paul..HE knows alot about bikes too...

You did put in fresh fuel right?

negative on the fresh fuel, it was on reserve when i parked it in the garage last augest, drove it around the blocks a couple weeks ago for the battery then around the block a couple times the other day, then it started supttering in first (rez. light still showing 4 blocks which means the rez. just came on which is normal) then when i would come up to stop signs it would bog out like it was having fuel problems. Took it back to the house parked it grabbed a gas can and went to fill it up, came back poured in about 3gals to the tank, drove it around rez. light went off engine running fine but still seems to be dieing out like the battery is going dead, so I go park it for the night with the battery tender on it. The next morning I drove it down to AAA to get it registered, the whole way down there it felt like the bike wasnt getting gas mind you it still had about 3gals, got it down to AAA got it registered, left the bike there, went to get a battery for it cause I still thought it was the battery, drove the bike home from AAA after we got the battery, put it in, engine running fine still but seemed like it wasnt getting gas ok so now Im like WTF M8 look in the tank and I can still see plenty of gas, so I get it running and start messing with the idle and reving the bike out trying to blow out whatever is in the line. Then after about 7 high revs the exhaust started smoking white smoke so Im thinking to myself ok cool Im getting some shit out that was clogged in a line... turned it off jumped in the pool cause by now it was 500* outside. Then I asked my woman if she wanted to go for a ride with the neighbor, well this is where the BULL SHIT starts to happen!!!! Start the bike up, start drivin down the road, bikes smokin white still not bad but just a little... but the bike is seeming not to get gas still and trying to stall out and the throttle had no damn pick up what so ever, getting up to 50mph was a struggle! So Im thinking ok were good it just needs to blow of the line more were good and keep driving to Palm Desert... smokes getting worse and worse the further we get, get to the 76 on 111 and San Lus Rey cause the Reserve light came on and Im thinking to my self what the F*** is going on now cause there was at least 2 1/2 gals in the tank! Fill up the tank, try to start it up, wouldnt do shit! Then Meagan says "look its leaking oil looking stuff out of the bottom of the exhaust!" So I check the oil level and son of a bitch! it has gas in it!!! Called a tow truck, got it home, parked it for the night. Next day which was yesterday, I started taking it apart, pulled the plastics, got the tank off, airbox/ram air off, coils, valve cover, spark plugs, fuel pressure regulater and stopped. The bike has 20k miles on it just a FYI that I probably should have said earlier. Anyway, the plugs looks like it wouldnt hurt to change them out. but then I twisted the throttle and looked in the throttle body and #2 was full of gas... so now I think I have a injector thats stuck open just dumping gas faster then it can get rid of but how the hell is it getting into the oil too? As for compression it sounds like has it... any ideas or book publishers that wanna hear my life story? :)

It sounds like you got crap in your fuel sys..Sounds like your fuel sys is screwed up..Maybe paul can help you with it..You will need plugs and oil&filter before you doing any thing, don't ride it with this much gas in your oil..Sounds like your carb is flooding out or does it have injectors(spell checkLOL)???

My bad, had to reread it again..You have injectors..

Okay what it did was flushed thru to your oil, my jeep did the same thing when i needed plugs..OIL smells like gas..Tune up fixed mine..The bike shop in palm springs does great work at a great price...It is called DTS(desert touring spec)..He is on ramon road west of golf club..He did my son inlaws bike last season..

Can you be more specific? :wow:

Sounds like a stuck injector. Gas fills up the cylinder and then is forced passed the rings and into the oil. Like Scott said, get the parts for a tune-up. If it needs the valves adjusted, take it to a shop and have it all done. I can help, as Scott said, it sounds like crap in the system made the injector stick open. That's the easy fix. Also get a couple cans of carb/injector cleaner.

When storing a vehicle back east, they fill the tank and then add a chemical that keeps the gas from Jelling. This way when spring comes, it starts right up.:lecture:

Yea that's what I thought too Paul, so much shit running around in my head! The bad part of all this is it's hard to work on cause everyhing is close quarters.. But I'm to broke to have someone else do it for me but the valves I'd have someone do...
